Being tasered just to carry them around is pretty pointless considering your carrying it around not giving it to the other person to tase you, what possible need is there to feel the taser yourself?

Yea the spary I can see since it is widely available and spray back or inhaling O.C. in the air happens at least 50% of the time it used in a non-static environment but being tased other than for reasons of being able to say in court yep been there done that is kind of stupid.

I think you should be Tasered to carry it. We all know that a gun can kill. But if we get shot by the taser, we know what it feels like. Less chance of abuse/excessive force. And an added bonus, when you get on the stand those wonderful defense attorneys cant make you look like an ass when they ask you if you know what it feels like to be tasered.

Yeah being tasered is a good experience for everyone. I never want to do it again. It was mandetory for me, but now it isn't. When I see rookies whine and say no I can call them pansies with clear concious

Well I think it's stupid to have to be tased or sprayed just for court purposes. You do not have to be sprayed to carry either, just FYI. I've been certified 5 times with the spray and the 5th time I told them enough was enough! You are only required to pass the written exam to legally carry spray. Personally I would rather punch someone in the face than carry spray anyway. Should we take a bite from a K-9 next? Should we be shot as well? It's stupid!

I think being tased just helps to create that image of "walking through fire first to be able to make someone else do the same." I've been tased and I can't say I'd do it again...but I'm glad that I did it!

I'm impressed these celebrities agreed to do this. I think it's a good idea with non-lethal force for people to know just how painful/effective it is before having to use it in a real-world situation where it will really count. Everyone knows guns can kill. But pepper spray and tasers designed to incapacitate, or at least stun assailant. I would want to know how effective it is before using it, not only to guage whether it's gonna be any good, but also so I don't use it inappropriately. I think once is enough though.

Being Tased is just a learning tool used so when you go to court on Use of Force you can identify and express how the taser works, feels and that it was used as a compliance tool. It also showes the courts you didn't just tase someone because you wanted to but to make them comply. Just because we carry ASP doesn't mean we beat everyone with them either.
