FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA - Authorities with the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) have released body camera footage of a 16-year-old stabbing a police officer.
According to FOX5, a 16-year-old is now in custody after being accused of stabbing a police officer in a violent confrontation on Monday, February 3rd. On Tuesday, February 4th, FCPD held a press conference where they showed body-worn camera footage of the incident.
The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Monday on Fair Lakes Parkway in Fair Lakes. The teen is the one who called 911, stating that he had just killed two people, which turned out to be a lie. Upon arriving on scene, officers exited their vehicle and began talking while outside the car.
In that moment, the suspect came charging at them while brandishing a knife in an unprovoked attack on the officers. The teen stabbed the officer once on the left side of the torso above the rib cage with a knife before being taken into custody.
In a statement, FCPD Chief Kevin Davis said, "It's a dangerous job whether you're making a traffic stop, whether you're responding to a domestic violence call for service or whether you're just walking into a store to check on the welfare of the business."
According to the police department, officers have had interactions with the suspect in the past, but they did not comment any further on those incidents due to the age of the teenager. Davis said, "Something has gone wrong in that young man's life. There's no doubt about it. I think that's something we all can probably agree on. It's sad when you hear about the age."
Body-cam footage shows the suspect go down to the ground after stabbing the officer. Police were able to handcuff him without further incident. Chief Davis said no weapons were used on the suspect. Davis saidd that the officer didn't initially realize that he had been stabbed until after the suspect was detained.
The officer was later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Police will not be releasing the name of the officer, but did state that he is a six-year veteran of the department. Chief Davis said, "The dangers of policing are ever present." The teen has been charged with felony malicious wounding, but he is not being charged as an adult.
In a separate incident, police in Atlanta, Georgia, are investigating a stabbing incident that involved a loss prevention officer at a supermarket in the Lindbergh neighborhood. According to FOX5, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) said that one person has been taken into custody following the stabbing and shoplifting call that came in around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th.
When officers arrived on scene, the loss prevention officer was alert and responsive. As of this writing, the names of those involved have not been released and it is not clear if the person taken into custody will be charged. The circumstances behind the stabbing remain under investigation and the loss prevention officer's status is unknown.

(More than a) Couple of years at GITMO with absolutely no contact with the outside world would do them just fine. Once there, start a rumor that they snitched on other members and let nature take its course.
