MOUNTAINBURG, AR – A 14-year-old girl based out of Mountainburg, Arkansas, was arrested earlier in August after authorities were alerted to an alleged plot to carry out a mass shooting at an unspecified school, with officials claiming the juvenile suspect had posted the alleged threats online via social media.
*In the interest of transparency, the author of this article is a distant relative of the accused juvenile in the detailed case, thus having intimate knowledge of the allegations and circumstances of the case not yet shared by official authorities.
On August 10th, Crawford County Sheriff’s deputies, along with federal authorities, executed a warrant at an address located along Dollard Road near Morgan Hollow in Mountainburg, where they took into custody 14-year-old Savannah Frueh on a charge of threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property, a Class C felony in Arkansas.
Authorities were reportedly alerted to concerning social media posts by the activist group Sandy Hook Promise, with Frueh having allegedly made posts such as her posing with a handgun, with claims she intended to use it in a school shooting. Additional social media posts referenced by authorities also include alleged statements from the juvenile, such as, “been thinking about shooting up a school...I have a gun, a plan, a list.”
Officials have not shared details on the specific school Frueh was allegedly planning to target, but sources have confirmed the juvenile was slated to begin attending Mountainburg High School on August 12th.
During the executed search warrant of the suspect’s home, authorities found Frueh and her 12-year-old sibling alone inside the home, where unsecured firearms were recovered. Authorities did confirm the handgun reportedly featured in one of Frueh’s social media posts was recovered from the residence, along with three additional rifles. Electronic devices, such as cellphones, were also recovered during the execution of the warrant.
According to Arkansas law, psychedelic mushrooms are classified as a Schedule I controlled substance, which, depending on the amount, can result in a Class D through Class B felony. However, when firearms are present inside a residence where psychedelic mushrooms are also to be found, the charge can be upgraded to a Class Y felony, which can result in up to 40 years in prison. While the suspect’s father has not been arrested in connection with the investigation in Arkansas, Stephen does have previous charges out of Polk County, Florida, for domestic violence back in 2020.
The suspect’s mother, 35-year-old Pamelia Alise Frueh, currently resides elsewhere in Arkansas, having left her and Stephen’s two children in his care. Rachel Frueh, the stepmother of the suspect, is currently facing charges of attempted murder in Florida regarding an unrelated incident from October 2025. The suspect’s 12-year-old sibling was voluntarily relocated to a family friend’s residence while the investigation continues.
