Remember the whining, tattooed, now-former Capitol Police officer Michael Fanone? The one who looked like an inmate at a maximum security prison? The one who cried before Congress like a jilted bride? Remember Fanone saying that anyone who entered the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was an “insurrectionist”? My, how the worm has turned.
On Thursday, Fanone appeared on a podcast and suggested that Americans should arm themselves against federal law enforcement agencies after an anti-ICE zealot, who tried to run down an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis, was shot to death by that agent. Keep in mind that Fanone is a former police officer now calling for the murder of former colleagues, all for political reasons. To say that Fanone is an embarrassment to his former profession is a vast understatement.
Recall that on the date of the Capitol siege, an unarmed woman and military veteran, Ashli Babbitt, was shot and killed in cold blood by a U.S. Capitol police officer, Lt. Michael Byrd. Babbitt was not an immediate threat to anyone, least of all Byrd, yet was shot and killed for no other reason than supporting President Donald Trump.
What did Fanone have to say after Babbitt’s murder? Nothing. Nada. Crickets. Even though a handful of individuals who entered the Capitol had weapons, Fanone continues to this day to call it an “insurrection.” In fact, he's still whining about it.
An overwhelming majority of those who entered the U.S. Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021, did so peacefully and in many cases were invited inside the Capitol by authorities. Those who assaulted police officers and acted with violence deserved what they got. But not those who merely “trespassed” or “paraded” on Capitol grounds.
Fanone, appearing on “Lincoln Square,” told co-host Mara May that politicians and law enforcement agencies need to “wake the f*ck up.”
“So these politicians and these local, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies need to wake the f*ck up,” Fanone said, and then addressed the obscenities uttered by politicians such as the feckless and weak mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey.
“I appreciate the foul language coming out of the mouth of the mayor of Minneapolis, and I think that his sentiment in the moment was appropriate. That being said: what are, what are you doing? What are you directing your law enforcement agencies to do to protect your citizens? How are you going about doing that?” Frey last week, trying to cosplay as a tough guy, told ICE to “get the f*ck out of” the city in remarks made after the anti-ICE agitator, Renee Good, was shot to death. “I don’t need to hear from the chief of police that we all need to remain calm and protest peacefully,” Fanone whined. “F*ck you and f*ck that. What are you doing to keep me safe? What are you doing to keep my mother safe, my sister safe, my community safe from these thugs? That’s what I need to hear coming out of these agents or these officers.” That is when Fanone went off the rails and suggested people arm themselves against federal law enforcement agencies, particularly Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “Because if you’re not going to do it, then it’s time for the American people to organize and to utilize their Second Amendment rights to protect themselves from what has clearly become an unaccountable and lawless agency that’s killing Americans,” Fanone continued. In other words, Fanone, who has been whining about an “insurrection” for five years, has himself called for one. Insurrection: the act or an instance of revolting especially violently against civil or political authority or against an established government, or the crime of inciting or engaging in such revolt[whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or against the authority of the United States…]. In between sobs in testimony before Congress in July 2021, Fanone labeled those who protested at the Capitol “terrorists” and became a star “analyst” for far-left cable “news” networks CNN and MSNBC (now MS NOW), repeatedly denigrating President Trump over the attack. In 2022, Fanone met with ancient then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who laughably called him a “hero.” Fanone has made a hobby out of appearing on Lincoln Square and criticizing ICE for doing its job. ICE has met with increasingly violent protests over the past few months, including shots being fired at agents, ICE agents being assaulted by gangs of unhinged thugs, and people have taken to ramming ICE vehicles with increasing frequency. In a press release last week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said ICE agents have seen a 1,300% increase in assaults, a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks being perpetrated against them, and an 8,000% increase in death threats. Now, you have a former police officer advocating for the same thing. “This unprecedented increase in violence against law enforcement is a direct result of sanctuary politicians and the media creating an environment that demonizes our law enforcement and encourages rampant assaults against them. Dangerous criminals–whether they be illegal aliens or U.S. citizens–are assaulting law enforcement and turning their vehicles into weapons to attack law enforcement,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Still, the brave men and women of DHS will not be deterred and will continue arresting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens. Anyone who attacks law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” McLaughlin also criticized tattoo boy Fanone for his “incendiary and immature” remarks in a statement provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation: "The latest footage corroborates what DHS has stated all along: This individual was impeding law enforcement and weaponizing her vehicle against ICE officers,” McLaughlin said. “The officer dutifully acted in self-defense. The American people can watch this video with their own eyes and judge for themselves.”
Fanone comes across as still being a whining, self-important, anti-American dimwit who should be ignored like a mosquito buzzing around your head. All buzz and just a major nuisance. Hopefully, except for the Department of Justice, which should be looking into Fanone's inflammatory statements and his clear threats against federal agents and attempt to foment an insurrection against the United States. A real insurrection, not a bunch of geriatric grandmothers and grandfathers walking around the U.S. Capitol grounds.
