How A Texas Welfare Check Turned Into a Grim Christmas Eve Discovery

TERRELL, TX – Law enforcement responding to a welfare check at a home located in a small Texas city roughly 30 miles east of Dallas reportedly discovered four bodies inside the residence. Few details have been released to the public regarding the grim Christmas Eve discovery by police.

Police in Terrell responded to a residence located within the 200 block of Rash Lane at approximately 5:29 p.m. on December 24th regarding a welfare check when the four unidentified bodies were discovered.

Authorities are reportedly working on identifying the deceased individuals but have noted that the matter appears to be an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public in connection with the case. Officials have yet to share any potential causes of death or whether the case is being actively treated as a homicide investigation.

Locals within Kaufman County have been actively speculating online on what could’ve occurred inside the home, with some claiming to have personal knowledge of who the deceased are.

One woman claiming to be directly related to the deceased commented on a public post on a Facebook group dedicated to news in Kaufman County, asking speculators to allow time for her family to grieve and to not circulate any wild theories related to the incident.

“This is my older kid’s family’s business,” the woman’s comment reads, adding, “I know it’s public but yall please give them the time to grieve before any info starts flying. And please if you really don’t know what happened please don’t comment guesses. It’s a very tragic incident that happened and I’m sure yall would want your privacy as well.”

Terrell Police detectives continue to review evidence and are reportedly conducting interviews, according to reports, and are also asking the public to come forth with any information that can help investigators. Individuals with information that can assist investigators are urged to contact the Terrell Police Department at 469-474-2700.
