New York: LGBT-Activist School Board VP Arrested for Child Porn, Sending Explicit Message to Child

CAZENOVIA, NY - The vice president of the Cazenovia Board of Education is under fire after he was arraigned on charges of engaging in sexually explicit communications with a child and possession of child pornography.

Travis Longo, 46, who also uses the last name Barr, was arraigned in a virtual federal court appearance on Saturday afternoon, the United States Department of Justice confirmed to NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Longo’s cellphone contained numerous explicit images, including videos “depicting the sexual abuse of infants,” sent to him over the internet. The images were first found by the New York State Police when Longo's cellphone was seized in connection with state charges.

The outlet reported that the State Police received a complaint and found Longo had “engaged in a pattern of sexually explicit communications with a child under the age of 12.” Police would not share Longo’s relationship or familiarity with the child to protect the victim’s identity.

Quite (un)ironically, Longo’s arrest came during “Pride Month.” Longo founded the Cazenovia Pride Fest, however on Friday, the organization’s president said the event had been canceled for this year along with all related events as well as the shutdown of the entire organization. Oops. Longo is also a drag queen who was a guest speaker at the Pennsylvania Democratic Party Caucus in 2024, Libs of TikTok discovered.

dir="ltr">In response to Longo’s arrest, the Cazenovia Board of Education voted to demand his resignation by Monday at noon, district superintendent Kevin Linck said. However, since his position is an elected one, the board can only officially seek his removal through the state education law proceedings, which the board voted to pursue immediately. Clearly, this guy wouldn’t appear to belong anywhere near or having anything to do with children.

In a statement, the Cazenovia Board of Education wrote:

"On June 19, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Cazenovia Board of Education received information from a news outlet that the Board’s Vice President, Travis Barr Longo, had been arrested for sending sexually explicit messages to a child.

The Board convened at 1:30 that afternoon, with the Superintendent, and an attorney retained by the District, with expertise in NYS Education Law. We unanimously agreed to a swift and decisive process to demand Mr. Longo’s resignation, as this is the most expedient way to remove him from the Board, effective immediately.

Communication to Mr. Longo from our attorney indicated that if he did not resign by noon, Monday, June 22, we would immediately pursue his removal through NYS Education Law proceedings. The Board of Education has no authority to remove Mr. Longo, as an elected official, without following the state mandated process.

The Board of Education has been shocked, deeply saddened, and outraged by these serious allegations, and we extend our support and assistance to all children and families involved. Our response reflects the Board of Education’s deep and unwavering commitment to every child’s safety, and well being. Our charge to protect every student in our District is our moral and ethical duty, along with a responsibility to the sworn oath that is our legal obligation.

We stand strong in condemning these alleged actions, while also acknowledging that it is the responsibility of the judicial system to determine guilt or innocence. We appreciate all of the hard work of law enforcement, and their partnership with us in protecting our students.

In unity with the students and families of the Cazenovia School District,

The Cazenovia CSD Board of Education."

Longo remains in federal custody as the case moves forward. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the alleged victim, citing the ongoing investigation and the need to protect the child's identity. If convicted on the federal charges, Longo could face significant prison time.
