The newest episode of “Sheepdog and Shepherd” takes viewers into one of the most powerful conversations the series has ever recorded. Hosts Kyle and Greg sit down with Hollywood Morris, founder of Support Our Shields.
His work honors fallen officers and has taken him more than 30,000 miles across the country. What begins as a story about a nonprofit quickly becomes a testimony of conviction and the sacrifice of telling the truth in a culture shaped by fear and division.
The conversation opens with Morris explaining how his ministry was born when the defund-the-police movement surged in 2020. “The Lord convicted me so heavily of the false narratives that were being run that were attacking law enforcement across the country,” he said.
He watched pastors privately acknowledge problems in their cities while publicly sidestepping the truth. In too many places, he explained, police became “the convenient scapegoat to run the social justice critical race theory narrative that all cops were racist and hunting unarmed black men.”
Morris describes how the crisis opened his eyes to the rising number of officers dying each year and how little national attention those deaths received. He began traveling to every department that lost an officer in the line of duty, presenting plaques to colleagues and grieving families.
He shares a powerful moment that pushed him to finally speak out. Driving through a small Florida town during COVID lockdowns, he broke down in tears.
“I told her, I was like, this is all a big lie,” he recalled telling his wife. He knew that once he spoke publicly, “the persecution is coming, the loss of finances is coming,” but he could no longer remain silent.
The episode explores how cultural pressure infected some churches, where biblical teaching was replaced with racial narratives and political agendas. Morris pointed to the rise of critical race theory and churches flying activist symbols.
“They were being dehumanized, demonized, and demoralized,” he said of police, noting how deeply Marxist ideas had penetrated religious spaces.
Yet amid the challenges, Morris describes moments of profound impact on grieving families. He shares the story of meeting the widow and children of Captain Helio Garcia, who was killed by a drunk driver in Georgia. “She was like, I want to tell you how important this was for me,” he recalled. A police captain later told him, “When someone from the community comes in… to say, we honor you… This will pay dividends for us years down the road.”
Throughout the episode, Kyle and Greg highlight how financial sacrifice, exhausting travel, and personal risk have become a way for him to minister to those in uniform during their darkest moments.
As the episode closes, Morris reflects on the deeper meaning of his work. “This is what real ministry is,” he said. “To have these relationships with people in their most vulnerable time… that you cared enough to think about them in their darkest moment.”
The episode ends with a reminder that the work of protecting and honoring America’s guardians is far from finished. Morris notes that “as of this recording, this year, we're down 33 officers… 15 have already been shot and killed,” and the threats continue to rise.
“We need to have their back like never before,” he said, “because the enemy is attacking like never before.”
