AURORA, CO - An Aurora, Colorado city councilwoman is firing back at her state's Democrat governor after he sought to dismiss reports of illegal alien gangs wreaking havoc in the community.
City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky responded to Gov. Jared Polis' description of illegal alien crime in the city as mere "imagination" in a Thursday statement provided to New York Post.
A spokeswoman for Polis had shot down media reports and public concern over the violent Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang in the statement, while making a contradictory offer of support in the form of state law enforcement resources to Aurora.
"The Governor has already let the Mayor know that the State is ready to support the local police department with assistance from state troopers and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation if needed," Polis spokeswoman Shelby Wieman said of the situation. "But, according to police intelligence this purported invasion is largely a feature of Danielle Jurinsky’s imagination."
"I am so disappointed," Jurinsky said of Polis' remarks, according to Fox News.
Polis' spokeswoman made the claim in spite of police reports and even video camera footage of armed gangsters knocking on doors within one of the affected apartment buildings, according to the Post. The councilwoman cited the experiences of one family she had helped evacuate from a Tren de Aragua-controlled slum apartment building in disputing Wieman's remarks.
"My question back to the governor is, is this also a figment of the Romeros' imagination? And the other resident that I helped to get out of there, and the other residents that I am going to continue to get out of there?"
Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman further described the situation as legitimate- brought about in part by the negligence of an out-of-state landlord who owns the apartment complex, in remarks provided to Fox.
"The situation is real but it also needs to be put into context so that the reputation of an entire city of over 400,000 residents is not adversely impacted by what has occurred in several isolated apartment buildings owned by the same out-of-state slum lord."
Aurora's city council has expressed its intent not to provide free resources to arriving illegal aliens in the midst of the influx of dangerous migrants. In contrast, Denver, its larger neighbor, has funneled in more illegal aliens per capita than any city in the United States. One leader of the Tren de Aragua gang, Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirino, faces multiple different sets of criminal charges, with some instances of alleged assault occuring after the migrant refused to appear in court for violent felony charges.
Jurinsky predicted that proof of the illegal alien crime wave would prove impossible for Polis to ignore.
"It is very promising that across the board, people are really seeing what is happening. Video footage is only undeniable for our governor in Colorado. Everybody else across the country is seeing this for themselves."

I feeling there is a snow storm coming from Aurora. You have armed gangs roaming the hallways, you have a shooting right after the filming of gang members in the hallway with guns, citizens have moved out with several videos of the gang members with guns roaming the hallways, you have members of the apartment complex with bullet holes in their vehicles, you have a shooting in the parking lot, you have film of gang member forcing doors open in the Apartment complex, all in one apartment complex, but the gangs are not taking over that apartment complex. Who are you going to believe, Aurora interim chief or your lying eyes. Does this happen in all the apartments in Aurora or only the ones where the gangs congregate and rule with firearms in their hands????? What's your definition of a take-over??
