Three men arrested in Los Angeles for series of violent robberies across southern CA

LOS ANGELES, CA - Three suspects have been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for a series of violent "follow-away" robberies across Southern California.

According to KTLA, the suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Nhazel Warren, from Los Angeles; 28-year-old Chazon Brown, from Los Angeles; and 32-year-old Isaiah Moore, from Fresno. Police described the trio as "prolific robbery suspects responsible for many other robberies" that involved "many victims who have yet to be identified."

One of the robberies took place on September 19th when the suspects allegedly confronted a make victim in a parking lot in the 23000 block of Mulholland Drive in Woodland Hills. The victim was reportedly punched and attacked so hard that he fell to the ground. He remained pinned to the ground as the robbers forcibly removed his jewelry before fleeing in a back BMW sedan.

In another incident that took place on October 23rd, a male victim was targeted in the 21000 block of Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills. That victim was allegedly followed by the three men to a local business when a black BMW sedan suddenly drove up to him. Two passengers in the backseat exited while armed with handguns before forcibly taking the victim's jewelry and fleeing the scene.

As the investigations into each incident continued, detectives determined that the three suspects were responsible for both robberies. On October 24th, Brown and Moore were arrested by LAPD. While arresting those two, police seized numerous items of evidence including two semiautomatic pistols. The third suspect, Warren, was arrested later that night in Long Beach.

All three men were arrested for armed robbery and are being held on $1 million bail each. While the robberies were being committed, Warren was wearing a GPS ankle monitor from the L.A. County Probation Pre-Trial Services. He was on probation following his arrests in two unrelated felony cases that occurred in July and August. On October 29th, Warren posted bond for a third time and was released.

Detectives believe that there are many more victims that were violently robbed by the three men who have yet to come forward. Photographs of the men have been released to help other victims recognize them and come forward. Anyone who was a victim or has information on the crimes is urged to contact Detectives Mrakich and Delph at 213-486-6840. The public can also call the LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.

In a separate incident, three other men have been arrested and charged in a violent West Los Angeles follow-home robbery that left one victim critically injured and one suspect dead. According to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, the three suspects have been identified as: Jason Melara, Daymonee Johnson, and Mahki Taylor, all born in 2005.

All three have been charged with one count of murder, one count of second-degree robbery, and one count of shooting at an occupied motor vehicle. Each have also been charged with two counts of attempted second-degree robbery and two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Taylor was additionally charged with one count of attempted murder. Each individual faces special allegations of use of a firearm.

The incident took place on September 13th, when a husband and a wife were allegedly confronted in the driveway of their home in West Los Angeles by armed men. The men were demanding property from them. During the incident, one of the men is accused of shooting the husband, striking him in the head. He remains in critical condition. A fourth suspect, later identified as Mario Melara, was fatally wounded during the incident.

in a statement, District Attorney George Gascón said, "This brazen attack is a grim reminder of the dangers posed by follow-home robberies, a disturbing trend that we are committed to cracking down on with the full force of the law. No one should fear for their safety simply by returning home, and we will not tolerate this kind of violence in our community." Each of the men are being held without bail. If convicted, the defendants face life in prison.
