CHICAGO, IL - A man accused of shooting and killing four people aboard a Chicago Transit Authority train made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
Rhanni Davis, 30, was ordered to be held without bond in the pre-trial detention hearing. The judge in the case pointed to the severity of the charges against Davis in denying him bond, describing the quadruple murder Davis is accused of as “absolutely horrific and appalling," according to NBC 5 Chicago.
Prosecutors allege that Davis shot and killed four people on Monday aboard the CTA train- three of whom were asleep on the early morning train. Court documents outlining the allegations against Davis cite CTA surveillance footage- in which he moved throughout a train car and shot three sleeping victims, one of whom was shot point blank in the head.
Davis allegedly moved to another train car after shooting 29-year-olid Simon Bihesi, Margaret Miller, 54, and an unidentified 52-year old man. Adrian Collins, 30, reportedly awoke as Davis confronted him with a handgun, and placed his hands up in a defensive position- only for the alleged gunman to shoot him in the abdomen anyway.
Law enforcement discovered the four victims as the train made its final stop at the Forest Park station. Three of them were pronounced dead at the scene, with a fourth dying at an area hospital. Prosecutors allege that cartridge casings recovered at the scene of a crime match with a handgun found on Davis' person when he was arrested the same day at the California Avenue Pink Line train station.
Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx has described the crime as a “horrific, heinous and inexplicable act of violence," expressing doubt that a motive for the act would ever be determined, according to Chicago WTTW.
Davis' next court appearance is slated for September 27. The defendant is yet to enter a formal plea in the case.

Unfortunately, Illinois did away with the death penalty some time ago. This PUKE certainly deserves to die for his crimes. But' this is just another example of the crimes committed mostly by blacks in a metropolitan area with a large black population. Black on white and black on black crime underscores the fact that we don't necessarily have a crime problem, we have a black problem! However if you try to talk about it, you're called a racist. But, the facts speak for themselves!
