This guy is helping DOGE save America. He's exactly what our founding fathers wanted. But what will it cost him?

When the left starts squawking about something, you can be sure someone is over the target. Such is the case with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), President Trump’s rebrand of Bill Clinton’s National Partnership for Reinventing Government.

In other words, DOGE is nothing new…a similar effort was taken by the Clinton administration.

The only difference–Trump.

The target? Democrat's soft money.

DOGE, spearheaded by Elon Musk, has contacted the most talented individuals—ranging from tech-savvy Gen Zers to accomplished businesspeople—to assist in fulfilling President Trump’s mandate to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.

One of those businesspeople is Joe Gebbia, the co-founder of Airbnb. The company, which was founded in 2008, allows property owners to rent out their properties as an alternative to hotels and motels.

According to The New York Times, Gebbia took a role at DOGE to assist Musk in this gargantuan task. In a recent post on X, Gebbia clarified his role, noting that he was using his “designer brain” and “start-up spirit” to improve the “slow and paper-based retirement process for federal workers.”

As one might expect, Gebbia faces two challenges — Musk and Trump.  But that's only because radicals HATE them and anything they touch.

Leftists in Congress, clueless individuals from Hollywood, and those suffering from Trump Delusion Syndrome have attacked anyone involved in efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse from the federal government…commonly referred to as leftist slush funds.

Unfortunately for Gebbia, some of those unhinged leftists are among Airbnb’s hosts and guests, and the app's community portal has been flooded with hundreds of negative comments, including threats to leave the platform.

Airbnb has attempted to distance itself from Gebbia’s decision to help DOGE. A spokesperson, Christopher McNulty, said, “Joe is joining DOGE in his personal capacity,” emphasizing that his “personal views don’t reflect the views of Airbnb or Airbnb.org.”

Gebbia founded the company with friends Brian Chesky and Nate Blecharczyk in 2008 from small beginnings, where the three decided to rent out air mattresses in their living room at their San Francisco apartment for people looking for a cheap place to stay.

Gebbia has not been actively involved in the company’s operations since 2022, the same year he joined Tesla’s board of directors. He also sits on Airbnb’s board and is reportedly close friends with Tesla founder Elon Musk.

Airbnb is a company that has embraced technology to connect thousands of property owners with revenue streams they might not otherwise enjoy and provide travelers with an alternative to expensive hotel rooms. In its operations, Airbnb will almost certainly seek out waste, fraud, and abuse, as any successful business should. The federal government should be no different.

According to FEC filings, Gebbia has not historically been a supporter of President Trump, per se. In the 2024 election cycle, he donated tens of thousands of dollars to state-level affiliates of the Libertarian Party and $41,300 to the Libertarian National Committee. He also donated nearly $177,900 to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s victory fund. Kennedy now serves as the Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Trump.

Gebbia - like so many others serving in DOGE - aren't there for a paycheck. They're not looking for fame or glory.  They're not looking for awards or kudos.  They're looking to serve our great nation.  They're looking to find waste - regardless of whether it's Democrats or Republicans who are responsible for it.

When our founding fathers were drafting the Constitution, they didn't want career politicians serving our nation.  The wanted people like Gebbia and so many of the others working with DOGE - individuals who actually built things from the ground up and were dedicated to coming in, serving, fixing things, and leaving our nation better and stronger for it.

In his personal capacity and as a friend of Elon Musk, Joe Gebbia shouldn’t be held to a different standard than anyone else seeking to help a friend. While a handful of people have taken to social media to complain about him assisting DOGE, they only represent a tiny fraction of the over 150 million global Airbnb users, which includes over 45 million in the United States.

Here, we hope that Airbnb ignores the sniping of the whiny few and keeps Gebbia on the board. Elon Musk is doing important work, and he needs the best and brightest to help him to do so.

We will continue to amplify the findings of DOGE not because of who created the team... and not because of who is on the team... but because the team serves every single taxpayer in America.

Joe...Elon and the rest of you torch-carrying patriots: we salute you.
