WEST JEFFERSON, OH - During a news conference on Monday, May 13th, authorities confirmed that police fatally shot an Amazon warehouse security guard trainee who attempted to shoot his supervisor at close range and shot at another officer, who, thankfully, was saved by his bulletproof vest.
According to the Associated Press, the initial incident between the security guard trainee and his supervisor happened at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 12th, at the warehouse located in West Jefferson. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras. Police said that the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ali Hamsa Yusuf, came up behind the supervisor and pointed a gun at the supervisor's head.
When he pointed the gun at his supervisor, it malfunctioned and the bullet barely missed the supervisor's head. Thankfully, the supervisor was not injured during the incident. Officials stated that there were more than 100 workers inside the warehouse while the shooting occurred.
According to FOX 8, witnesses gave differing accounts on the number of shots fired at the Amazon warehouse. One 911 caller stated he heard shots fired inside the building and a woman screaming before people starting going outside. Another 911 caller, who identified himself as an Amazon employee, said Yusuf was his "trainee" and that he shot at him twice, but missed. The second 911 called said, "He almost executed me."
After the incident, Yusuf fled the area. However, he was spotted later that day in Columbus by Madison County authorities. Both Franklin Township and Columbus police tried to stop Yusuf as he drove away. Later, Yusuf left the vehicle and began firing at a Columbus officer. The officer was hit by gunfire, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries thanks to his bulletproof vest. He is a four-year veteran of the police force.
Again, Yusuf attempted to run away as other officers discharged their duty weapons at him. He was struck by the gunfire and transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. FOX 8 reported that bodycam footage and dashcam footage released by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) captured the moments when police finally caught up with Yusuf.
Police vehicles are seen blocking his vehicle in at the intersection of Georgesville and Clime Road with the dashcam showing Yusuf getting out of his car and immediately firing at the officers. The dashcam then shows Yusuf running up a small hill to a HomeBuys parking lot, still firing at the officers behind him. Starting from Yusuf's first shot, the continuous exchange of gunfire lasted a total of eight seconds.
According to authorities, Yusuf was not supposed to have a gun while on duty at the Amazon warehouse and as of this writing, the motive for his deadly actions towards his supervisor are unclear. Yusuf does not have a known criminal history.
After the shooting, all employees of the Amazon warehouse were sent home with pay and shifts at the facility were canceled with employees still receiving their pay. Amazon's communication team wrote in a statement, "We're thankful that no one at our facility was injured during this incident and for the work of our team on the ground and first responders."

Let's have some background on Yusuf. I'm betting he was an illegal alien, because no one is talking about who he was, and he appears to not exist on the internet or Social media.
