Radical terrorist sympathizer is found working at the Pentagon, worked for Hamas ally Qatar for years

Front Page Magazine reports that the Chief of Staff for the Pentagon Comptroller, Yousra Fazili, has family ties to radical Islamist terrorists. The David Horowitz Freedom Center unmasked Fazili in a recent expose. 

In testimony before a 2019 congressional hearing, Fazili complained to lawmakers about the arrest of her cousin by Indian authorities, claiming he was the innocent victim of oppression by those authorities. 

Fazili, daughter of Kashmiri Muslim immigrants, told lawmakers her cousin Mubeen Shah was arrested under India’s “Public Safety Act” despite not being identified as a politician or dissident, nor a freedom fighter or “even a kid in the street throwing stones,” she said. 

“He’s just a businessman. His life’s work has focused on bringing economic opportunity to Kashmir.” 

The truth is, however, that Shah “lionized Kashmiri jihadists, agreed with a description of convicted terrorists as ‘inspirations for the youth,’ and promised that ‘we all are ready to spill our blood’” to keep the region Muslim. 

Moreover, Shah made a Facebook post with a picture depicting an Islamic terrorist tied to “The Army of Muhammad,” Mohammad Afzal Guru, as the “Pride of Kashmir.” The Army of Muhammad is an Islamic terrorist group and is affiliated with al Qaeda. Guru was executed for his role in a December 2021 attack on the Indian parliament. 

Yousra Fazili is well-versed in Islamic religious law, otherwise known as sharia law, having studied it at Al-Azhar University in Egypt before ultimately receiving a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Harvard. She was captured on a recording at the UN Economic and Social Council representing the Islamic Federation of Student Organizations, which is closely tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. That organization was co-founded by individuals connected to the Muslim Brotherhood and the late (and full of holes) Osama bin Laden. 

Fazili also has ties to Qatar, which a recent Law Enforcement Today piece identified as a state sponsor of Hamas. This terrorist organization recently launched a brutal attack on primarily civilians in Israel and is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. Fazili formerly worked for a Qatari diplomat. 

Fazili isn’t letting the fact she works for the Pentagon interfere with her radical views. 

The Washington Free Beacon reports that Fazili has taken to her private Instagram account to promote anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian demonstrations across the country that have ignored the atrocities conducted by Hamas while demanding Israel stand down with a ceasefire. 

Fazili’s comments seem to contradict the policies of her employer, which is offering support to Israel as it tries to kneecap Hamas in the Gaza Strip. 

“Let Gaza Live” read one Instagram post that Fazili reposted, then going on to praise Harvard students for a number of pro-Palestinian rallies that accused Israel of committing “genocide” and demanding an immediate ceasefire. 

“I’m proud of these kids at Harvard,” Fazili wrote in response to efforts by media watchdog groups to identify the leaders behind the pro-Hamas rallies. “The leaders all got doxxed this week & undeterred, they continue to organize and come out strong.” 

Yet she has a high-level position at the Pentagon. 

She then moved to the anticipated Israeli ground operation into Gaza. She claimed Israel already destroyed most of Hamas’s infrastructure and should stand down. 

“I can’t help but think what’s left to destroy?” she wrote in an Instagram post that appears to show rubble in the Gaza Strip. “Is this helping find the hostages? Who in their right mind can see this and not believe in a ceasefire?” 

In another of her obsessive posts on Instagram, Fazili posted pictures of a vast anti-Israel demonstration held in Washington, D.C., while writing that a “ceasefire is what everyone should be pushing for.” 

Fazili’s radical leanings have gotten the attention of at least one lawmaker, Rep. Jack Bergman (R-Minn.), who sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin earlier this month where he alleged she helped Qatar target “prominent Americans in an effort to silence Qatar’s critics.” 

Fazili is also a fan of the Marxists in the “squad,” taking time to praise the Israel haters in the House for pushing a resolution in the House calling for an immediate ceasefire. Those members include radical leftist Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). 

The Free Beacon contacted the Pentagon for comment, which was declined, nor would they outline the department’s social media policies. The spokesman said the DoD would respond to Rep. Bergman’s concerns about Fazili’s past work with the Qatari government. 

“The department provides responses directly to members of Congress in matters of this kind,” the spokesman said. “We have no additional statements to provide at this time.” 

In his letter dated Oct. 12, Bergman asked for information to confirm “the Pentagon has properly vetted Ms. Fazili’s openly acknowledged relationship with one of the two primary sponsors of Hamas,” referring to the Qatari government. 

“This matter is even more urgent now,” Bergman wrote. “In light of the unprecedented terrorist attacks launched on October 7 targeting Israel–with over 1,200 murdered as of this writing, including at least 22 American citizens–by Hamas’ leadership who are currently overseeing the slaughter of men, women, and children from inside luxury residences provided by Ms. Fazili’s former client, the State of Qatar.”
