LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ – A 27-year-old Arizona man, who is currently an at-large fugitive believed to have fled the United States, is wanted on charges of first-degree murder after his parents were discovered murdered inside their Litchfield Park home earlier in August. Authorities say the alleged killings occurred after the suspect learned that his mother didn’t plan on leaving her husband despite infidelity issues.
On August 4th, Avondale Police Department officers responded to a requested welfare check for the residence of Hector and Larissa Flores after concerned family members said the couple hadn’t been answering or returning calls since July 29th. Upon entering the residence, authorities reportedly found large amounts of blood and signs of what appeared to be an attempted cleanup of the crime scene.
Police eventually discovered the bodies of Hector and Larissa Flores buried in the backyard of the residence, with authorities believing the couple’s 27-year-old son, Matthew Christopher Flores Semyonov, might be behind their deaths.
Family members of the deceased informed authorities that Flores Semyonov had recently moved back into his parents’ home and had engaged in a series of alarming statements and actions prior to the couple’s passing. Among the alleged statements and actions carried out by Flores Semyonov prior to the discovery were vague threats such as, “you’ll get what’s coming to you,” alongside bizarre actions like him watering the plants in the middle of the night and telling his mother the plants “told” him “they were thirsty.”
Another factor authorities believe may have contributed to the killings was Flores Semyonov’s alleged reaction to learning that his father had previously been unfaithful to his mother. Flores Semyonov was reportedly upset that his mother chose to remain with his father despite the infidelity.
By the time authorities discovered the couple’s bodies, they believe Flores Semyonov had already fled the country. A press release from the U.S. Marshals Service cites Flores Semyonov as being wanted on a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, and state charges of first-degree murder, domestic violence, and abandonment/concealment of a dead body.
Authorities have yet to detail where Flores Semyonov is believed to have fled to abroad, nor have they shared details on how Flores Semyonov left.
