God forbid the Israeli people get to defend themselves.
One month after Hamas savages entered Israel and proceeded to slaughter Jews, including children and babies, the Biden administration is taking their gun control obsession to that nation, demanding Israel not provide weapons sold by the United States to civilians living in the West Bank, according to an exclusive by the Washington Free Beacon.
The outlet reports that Israel dispatched an urgent request to the United States government, asking to purchase thousands of M-16 rifles after the Oct. 7 invasion by Hamas, which resulted in over 1,400 deaths of Israeli citizens.
However, the Biden administration refused to approve the sale unless Israel guaranteed the critical weaponry would not reach civilian outposts in the West Bank, an area the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party, including Biden, consider to be occupied territory, the Free Beacon wrote.
This development shows the Biden administration appears beholden to its far-left base and was characterized as “unusual” by officials.
Far-left Democrats led by “squad” members Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and others are pushing the administration to press Israel for a ceasefire while accusing the nation-state of committing “genocide” against Palestinians.
Israel believes the weapons are crucial to their defense as they fight Hamas and a proxy war by Iran on their border with Syria. With the IDF occupied in their relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip, civilians living in other parts of Israel, like the West Bank, are left to fend for themselves.
They are currently being equipped and trained to defend against potential terrorist attacks in that area.
The Free Beacon wrote that Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) is one of the lawmakers pressing Biden to restrict Israel’s access to the weapons.
The administration has been pressing Israel to put a halt to its war effort so humanitarian aid can be brought in. Still, any such action comes with the probability that Hamas will use that as an opportunity to rearm and redeploy resources.
Israel has rejected such claims for that precise reason, as well as the fact Hamas typically uses “humanitarian aid” to fund its terrorist campaigns. Little, if any, such funds make it to those who need it.
Meanwhile, playing to his radical base, Biden has backed off from his earlier strong support for Israel, instead now accusing Israelis living in the West Bank for alleged “unwarranted attacks” on Palestinians in remarks late last month, claiming without merit they were “pouring gasoline on the fire.”
Because defending yourselves against people who shoot mothers in front of their children, who behead infants, and who gang rape innocent young girls is so offensive.
