SEATTLE, WA - If Marty McFly’s Delorean time machine had transported him into the year 2023 instead of back in time, he probably would have thought he landed on a different planet. What else would someone from the 1980s think when they discovered a college granted a female volleyball scholarship to a biological male? We have indeed entered the Twilight Zone.
Breitbart reported that the University of Washington is awarding one of only 12 female volleyball scholarships to a teenage boy named Tate Drageset, who is apparently quite confused about his gender. He started “transitioning” at the age of 12. He made a verbal commitment to attend the school in June and will receive one of the university’s Division 1 athletic scholarships, Reduxx reported.
Drageset was part of girls' volleyball teams that reached the state championships and, in the antithesis of Title IX, was actually named MVP at the Girls' Junior National Championships. He also won the California Interscholastic Federation’s Division 5 Player of the 2022-23 Year.
Drageset’s biological sex has been kept something of a secret. None of his teams, schools, or volleyball associations have revealed he is male identifying as a transgender girl, Breitbart reported. Guess that’s one way to get a full-boat college scholarship.
It hasn’t exactly been a secret, however, that Drageset is, in fact, a biological male. Parents of girls who have played on teams opposite him have spoken about the situation for years, with many being angry that Drageset–taller and more powerful than their daughters–has been “taking opportunities from natural-born girls for years,” according to Breitbart.
Many of those parents, however, have been hesitant to speak out over fears of being doxxed by the leftist mob or, worse, that their daughters would be punished.
“Everyone is scared of how their child will be treated if they speak up. It’s already so competitive to get on a good club team,” one parent, who asked to remain anonymous, told Reduxx. “The stealing of positions and opportunities has been infuriating and so sad when you see how it affects the girls. There is no concern for their mental health or safety after being replaced.”
Meanwhile, Drageset’s mother has been using her son’s gender confusion for self-promotion, where she decided to promote child transgenderism.
According to a 2016 Los Angeles Times article, Stacey Drageset claimed she knew Tate was transgender when he was ten because he liked girls’ clothing. That story doesn’t specifically name Tate; however, it refers to the child as “T,” who was into volleyball. In addition, the paper wrote “T” happens to be from the same area that Tate lives in.
According to the story:
The 9-year-old is growing up. She used to play with Barbies. Now she’s the class treasurer of her West L.A. elementary school. She plays girls’ volleyball, paints her nails, and likes to challenge herself on Minecraft.
She’s also transgender.
The girl, her parents, and school administrators agreed to share her story to show how they are grappling with a situation that more and more schools are facing.
Wonder why.
Drageset also produced a short film in 2016 called Transmission.love about Tate, made when he was only 12. Reduxx reported that Tate’s face was blurred out, however, it features a child holding a volleyball with the name “Tate” on it.
Not satisfied with her previous attempts to normalize her son’s behavior, Dragesett published a book in 2015 about gender identity targeted toward children. As Breitbart noted, Stacey “Dragesett has been promulgating transgenderism for small children since her son was only around ten years old.”
Tate Dragesett’s biological makeup helps him to excel in volleyball beyond what his female teammates and opponents are capable of, according to Reduxx.
“When compared to same-height female athletes within his volleyball club, Drageset’s standing reach, vertical jump, and other key physical metrics are all more favorable.”
Moreover, he enjoys an advantage because the court setup for females differs from that for male athletes. For example, male volleyball nets are set seven inches higher than that for females because males are, on average, six inches taller than girls and “far more powerful on spikes and serves,” Breitbart reported. Therefore, it isn’t surprising that he can far surpass his female teammates and opponents.
“Tate has been tearing through all opponents, and every team he has played on as a girl has effortlessly soared into championship status,” Breitbart noted. “However, many parents feel that Tate is cheating and that his male physique gives him a vast and unbeatable advantage.”
Some parents are also rightfully concerned about their daughters’ safety on the court when they are playing against more muscular biological males.
In fact, just weeks ago, a California father reported his daughter was seriously injured by a ball spiked by a male identifying as a female during a high school volleyball game. He said his daughter suffered a severe concussion and has been left with blurry vision.
In 2022, another girl was seriously injured by a transgender male during a high school volleyball game in North Carolina.
A Massachusetts girl had her teeth knocked out in November when a male identifying as a female on an opposing field hockey team hit a slap shot that struck her in the mouth.
It’s likely only a matter of time before a female athlete dies after being struck by a volleyball, or softball, or whatever by a male athlete identifying as a female.
