California Lawmaker Floats Plan to Punish ICE Agents for Enforcing Federal Law

WASHINGTON, DC- Resident Congressional dimwit and lover of Chinese spies, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), a failed 2020 presidential candidate who has delusions of becoming California governor, told MS NOW that if elected governor, he will revoke the driver’s licenses of federal immigration agents who wear masks. In other news, the moon is made of Swiss cheese.

Fox News Digital reports that Swalwell told MS NOW’s twenty viewers that one of the governor’s duties is to protect the state’s most vulnerable populations in response to a question asking what his qualifications are to run the most populous state in the nation.

“If the president is going to send ICE agents to chase immigrants through the fields where they work, what I’m going to [do] is make them take off their masks and show their faces, that they show their identification, and if they commit crimes, that they’re going to be charged with crimes,” Swalwell bloviated.

“If the governor has the ability to issue driver’s licenses to people in California, if you’re going to wear a mask and not identify yourself, you’re not going to be eligible to drive a vehicle in California,” Swalwell said.

Perhaps Swalwell, who previously had an affair with a Chinese spy named “Fang Fang,” should familiarize himself with Article VI, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, otherwise referred to as the Supremacy Clause. That article establishes that the Constitution and federal laws made under it are the “supreme Law of the Land,” taking precedence over conflicting state laws. Swalwell can bloviate all he wants, but the authority of federal agents is superior to any state laws he passes. If the people of California were stupid enough to elect him, Swalwell’s threats would be vapid. He would have no authority over federal immigration officials.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to get their reactions to Swalwell’s scheme.

“Fang Fang’s former lover wants to give drivers licenses to criminal illegal aliens and simultaneously punish law enforcement officers for enforcing the law?” White House Spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital, referring to the honeypot who targeted naive politicians like Swalwell and other politicians in California.

“What an absolute clown,” Jackson continued.

California passed a measure banning ICE officers from wearing masks while conducting operations, which was supposed to take effect on Jan. 1. The Department of Homeland Security says they will not comply with the law and the Trump administration has filed a lawsuit over the issue. The law remains on hold until a hearing scheduled for Jan. 12.

People who have no problem with masked thugs conducting violent protests on the streets of California’s cities have claimed the masked agents are a threat to communities and allege it could result in “brutal” law enforcement tactics.

Federal authorities say having masked agents is necessary because radical leftists have faced death threats, as well as their families.

Swalwell, clearly in the top ten for stupidest members of Congress, got lit up on X:

And the winner:

Bill Essayli, first assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, told Fox News Digital last week that the state doesn’t have the authority to regulate federal officials.

“In the meantime, California has agreed to put the law on hold and not enforce its unconstitutional mask ban, which is designed to allow radical leftists to dox federal agents enforcing immigration laws,” he wrote on X.

Swalwell was also taken to task by Harmeet K. Dhillon, assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.

“What’s even dumber about this is that Swalwell has a law degree and he even once made a living as a prosecutor,” she wrote on X. “He knows about federal supremacy and that is not possible for a state prosecutor to do any of the things he is promising. Oh, and he won’t ever be governor, either.”

Touche, Harmeet Dhillon. Touche.

Any government official who tries to defy Federal law and abet criminals should be arrested and jailed.
