Chinese scientists announce new coronavirus strain GX_P2V is '100% lethal' in 'humanized' mice

A new study released in Beijing last week has revealed that a new strain of mutant coronavirus dubbed GX-P2V is being experimented upon by researchers attached to the Chinese military. The new virus is reportedly 100% lethal to "humanized" mice genetically modified to express human cellular characteristics, directly attacking the brains of the exposed mice.

As reported by The New York Post, the authors of the study wrote, "This underscores a spillover risk of GX_P2V into humans and provides a unique model for understanding the pathogenic mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2-related viruses."

The new strain is a modification of GX/2017, a virus indirectly related to the COVID-19 virus that was discovered in pangolins from Malaysia in 2017. All of the mice infected with the virus died within an eight day period at what researchers described as a "surprising" rate.

Based on the study, the virus infected the respiratory system, bones, eyes, tracheas and brains of the mice, ultimately leading to their death. As the mice declined in health they rapidly lost weight, were sluggish and hunched in posture. Disturbingly their eyes whitened prior to death.

Scientists in the UK and here in the US condemned the study as "terrible” and “scientifically totally pointless," according to the Post, with Professor Francois Balloux of the University College London Genetic Institute writing in a post to X, "I had a look at the preprint. It's a terrible study, scientifically totally pointless. I can see nothing of vague interest that could be learned from force-infecting a weird breed of humanised mice with a random virus. Conversely, I could see how such stuff might go wrong..."

Professor Richard H. Ebright supported his conclusion noting "concur" in the comments, while Dr. Gennadi Glinsky, a retired professor of medicine from Stanford stated, "This madness must be stopped before too late."

Dr. Glinsky added, "SARS-CoV-2-related pangolin coronavirus GX_P2V(short_3UTR) can cause 100% mortality in human ACE2-transgenic mice, potentially attributable to late-stage brain infection."

The type of "gain of function" research that generated this study is similar to that which allegedly contributed to the development of SARS-Cov2 COVID-19 at the Wuhan Institute of Technology and was partly funded through grants approved by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases under Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Michael

We all know that this is where the original virus was headed - weaponized for likely military use, without a shot fired. Fauci broke US law by funding this in the first place. He should spend life in jail and China ostracized by the world community until such time as they open to complete inspection and destroy any and all such research. with inspections regularly to ensure they never do again. Not like I expect any of the above to happen.
