Radical state treasurer attacks Connecticut lawmakers for daring to protect innocent children

HARTFORD, CT- A message to Connecticut State Treasurer Erick Russell–stay in your lane.

Residents in Connecticut can appreciate the fact that Russell, as a “gay man” (as he reminded us), was elected to statewide office.

However the fact that he holds a position as state treasurer means he should concern himself with managing the beaucoup amount of tax money and fees the State of Connecticut shakes down from its residents. Instead, he chose to insert himself into legislative business and, in doing so, decided to put a target on five state legislators.

Being a “gay man” may qualify Russell to be treasurer of the State of Connecticut, but it doesn’t qualify him to tell parents how to raise their children. The legislation that has gotten Russell so upset are two bills proposed in the Connecticut Legislature.

One would prohibit schools from keeping matters regarding their child’s gender identity and gender transition discussions from parents. The other would put the state in compliance with Title IX, which protects, among other things, girls’ sports.

It is clear that Russell is setting himself up for higher office down the road, be it governor or perhaps a Senate run, whenever the old fossil Blumenthal finally goes out to pasture. His apparent ambitions aside, the op-ed Russell published in the Hartford Courant borders on the absurd.

For example, he calls a proposal to protect girls and women’s sports as an attempt “to strip away constitutional rights from women…” If anyone is stripping rights from anyone, it is the alphabet community, whose sudden obsession with men pretending to be women over the past two years is curious, to say the least.

Russell says it is an “obsession” that his political opponents have with matters such as youth sports, rage over light beer advertising, or an overpowering fear of a book on a library shelf.” We find it disturbing that Mr. Russell believes books with vivid descriptions of gay sex being available in school libraries is an “obsession.” Would Russell feel the same way if heterosexual pornography was likewise available on school library shelves?

Why does Russell believe female athletes do not deserve the same opportunities to excel in sports as their male counterparts? If conservatives did that, they would be called sexist. For Democrats like Russell, it’s done in the name of “inclusion.”

It’s amusing that Russell, who comes from a party that is obsessed with engaging in boycotts of anyone and everything they disagree with, suddenly has a problem when conservatives have an issue with a brand that used to represent what they stood for, yet suddenly decided to abandon their demographic to pander to a small minority of mentally disabled people.

Russell’s op-ed claims that “all kids should feel safe and comfortable in their schools.” Yes, Mr. Russell, “all kids,” including girls and young women, “should feel safe and comfortable in their schools,” including in their locker rooms and bathrooms. Did you ever hear of Loudoun County, Virginia, where at least two high school girls were raped in the girl’s room by a male who pretended to be a female?

Russell calls out to the radical leftist loons to target the five brave Republicans sponsoring these bills, identifying them by name and suggesting that proposing these bills is “harmful to their own political futures.” That is a dog whistle to the radical base of the Democrat party, and as a state official, Russell is doing a disservice to those representatives.

Perhaps one of the most ironic statements made by Russell is when he said, “the most outrageous or extreme figures in our politics are the only ones being heard because they’re the loudest.” Has he heard of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Rashida Tlaib? Maxine Waters? Cori Bush? Talk about “outrageous” and “extreme.”

Mr. Russell, the only ones creating “cultural fissures” in our communities and splitting us apart are the Democrats. Mr. Russell’s partisan, dangerous, and ill-conceived op-ed is exhibit one that the Democrats only want it one way…their way or the highway.

Perhaps Mr. Russell should take a look at how the American people view matters such as the trans obsession. Polling last year showed 68% of Americans opposed the use of puberty blockers for youth aged 10-14, while 58% opposed hormonal treatment between the ages of 15-17.

In addition, the same poll showed over 60 percent of respondents opposed letting biological males compete on female sports teams.

Finally, another poll showed 71% of respondents supported legislation requiring schools to inform parents if their child wants to change their gender identity; 75% supported legislation to require schools to get parental consent before helping a student transition.

So, based on public opinion, Mr. Russell is on the wrong side of these issues while the Republicans he’s attacking are over the target. Typical for a Democrat.

Just what we need, another DEI recipient from the alphabet community. Mr. Russell leave the kids alone as you are the farthest thing from an expert.
