Deranged Leftist Berates, Assaults Trump Official Inside UN During General Assembly

NEW YORK, NY - In crime-ridden New York City, even the United Nations building isn’t immune from criminal activity. Fox News Digital reports that a Trump administration official was physically assaulted by what was described as a “deranged leftist” inside the United Nations on Thursday during a gathering of the UN General Assembly. 

The outlet reports that an official assigned to international relations in the Department of Health and Human Services was at the UN in a support role for HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the department’s leadership team at UNGA. 

“An HHS official was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted, and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told Fox News Digital. “Thankfully, the official is safe, and the lunatic was arrested, but this is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN after their sabotage of President Trump ahead of and during his speech.” 

Kelly told Fox that the U.S. Secret Service will be tasked with investigating “how this violent protester was admitted into a major national security event.” 

Fox News Digital, citing sources familiar with the incident, said the crazed attacker has been charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. The individual, identified as 62-year-old Patricia Schuh by WHAM-13, was later released from jail after being booked. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 13. 

“The UN must answer why these highly concerning incidents continue to happen against the president and his staff,” Kelly said. 

A UN spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “We are outraged that a member of the U.S. delegation was physically assaulted inside UN Headquarters the afternoon of September 24. This attack must be addressed swiftly, and consequences must be felt.” 

The spokesperson told Fox News Digital that, admittedly, “the UN itself recognizes that it has lost its way.” 

‘Now it has devolved into an arena where an American delegation member is harassed and assaulted,” the spokesperson continued. “If you can’t keep people safe in your own building, how can you claim to be the world’s diplomatic center?” while calling the incident “unacceptable.” They said the UN “will use every available resource to support the U.S. Secret Service in their investigation of this incident.” 

“We know the UN needs dramatic reform and now must also immediately implement a thorough review of the UN’s security operations. The UN’s failures are evident worldwide and now in its own halls.” 

“Enough is enough,” they continued. 

According to the HHS official, who was not identified, she said she was walking down the hallway at the UN when a woman began verbally berating her and shining a bright light in her face, she told Fox News Digital. 

“It was very disorienting,” the official said. “Once I took a step back and regained my footing, it didn’t stop. I realized what was happening. I realized I was being yelled at and that the light was also a recording device.” 

She said she attempted to get away from the woman who was bellowing derogatory and pro-Palestinian comments at her while following close behind. She said the crazy leftist called her a “fascist” and a “Nazi,” repeating the same inflammatory language being directed at President Trump and other conservatives from liberal lawmakers and other radical leftists. 

“The insults changed to specific insults,” she told Fox News Digital, noting that she walked into the women’s bathroom to get away from the crazed lunatic; however, she kept following behind. 

“Her yelling turned into screaming hyper-aggressive insults,” the victims said. The victim barricaded herself inside a bathroom stall while the woman kept pushing to try to enter the stall. Once she had secured and locked the door, the crazed woman placed the camera over the stall door while continuing to film the official and screaming at her. 

After the screaming briefly stopped, the victim exited; however, Schuh was waiting for her at the door and continued following behind, berating her and shining the light at her face. The victim was finally able to get away. She told Fox News Digital the incident lasted approximately 10 minutes. 

“It felt very political in nature,” she said. “Secretary Kennedy gets a tremendous number of bows and arrows and threats that he deals with, but it seems that it’s not enough, and it is trickling down.” 

She continued, “That’s a scary thing for the team. But we’re more empowered, and we have amazing leadership.” 

“The individual in question was a guest at an event sponsored by a member state. She had been issued the appropriate authorization to enter the UN premises. Like all other attendees, she was subject to a thorough security screening before entering the premises,” a spokesman for the secretary general of the UN told Fox News Digital. “Once UN authorities were made aware of the incident, they reacted swiftly. The alleged perpetrator was identified and detained. Soon after, [she was] handed over to the NYPD for arrest.” 

The spokesman continued, “[a]nyone granted access to the UN premises is expected to behave in an orderly manner and can be removed immediately if that’s [not] the case.

“At all times, but especially during the General Assembly, the cooperation between UN security and its host country law enforcement partners could not be closer or more professional.” 

The incident follows a couple of bizarre incidents on the day President Trump attended the UNGA. First, the escalator the president and First Lady were on stopped working for no apparent reason, which some individuals claimed could have been used as a perfect opportunity for an assassination attempt on the president, at worst. Some proposed it was an attempt to humiliate him. The Secret Service has received criticism from some quarters for what was perceived as a lax response to the incident. 

The second incident occurred while the president was delivering remarks to the UNGA when the teleprompter he was using “malfunctioned.” However, unlike his predecessor, President Trump doesn’t rely solely on a teleprompter when making remarks and often speaks off the cuff.
