Detroit pastor, 9/11 medic hit and killed by illegal immigrant running a red light

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI - Pastor Stephen Singleton, 72, of Rochester Hills was reportedly struck and killed by an illegal immigrant who ran a red light according to reports from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the victim's family.

The man who hit Singelton was a 28-year-old illegal immigrant from Colombia who was arrested and then released by US Customs and Border Protection pending an undetermined court date.

Reporting from The New York Post, revealed Monday that Singleton was hit while crossing the road and while wearing a reflective safety vest on November 3rd. The 72-year-old Pastor suffered severe traumatic injuries and was placed on life support after being rushed to an area hospital. His granddaughter told reporters that he clung to life for five days before being declared brain-dead and taken off life support.

The Pastor's wife Teri Singleton told Fox 2 Detroit that her husband's injuries were extensive. "He had almost every bone in his body broken," she said. "He had his collarbone fractured, internal organ damage, and his skull was cracked. He had two craniotomies in the hospital."

Mrs. Singleton expressed her frustration over the treatment of the man responsible for her husband's death. "I had to sit and watch my husband of 53 years die in front of me and then to know that the person who did this is walking around is very difficult to deal with," she said.

She told reporters that she was nearby when the accident occurred, "He’s been coming back within, I’ll say, 45 minutes at the most. He didn’t return. I was sitting there waiting. I was actually less than a block away from where it happened."

"He’s dead and they’re walking around. That’s bothering me," Teri said. As of Monday, the driver has not been placed under arrest according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and US Customs and Border Protection.

Pastor Singleton was well-known for his work with the Archdiocese of Chicago and his service as a former medic who traveled to New York City to respond to the 9/11 attacks.

Independent journalist Mario Nawfal reported via X, "The driver had no U.S. license but held a foreign license valid in Michigan. Singleton’s family described him as a loving figure and community servant. He officiated hundreds of funerals and volunteered at 9/11 ground zero. His wife, who depended on his care, now seeks support for funeral costs."

This man would still be alive if only the politicians did their job of protecting and securing our borders ! Politicians should be held criminally and civilly liable for their culpability in aiding and abetting this encouraged criminal behavior !

MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE SINGLETON FAMILY. THE DRIVER NEEDS TO FACE CHARGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

More innocent blood on the hands of our leaders, from both parties who support open borders, and that would be most of them.
