MCALLEN, TX - A 20-year-old woman has been accused of slamming into a police vehicle while driving intoxicated early Sunday morning, according to local reports.
Officers with the McAllen Police Department were assisting the Pharr Police Department in investigating a fatal collision around 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of East Interstate Highway 2.
Emily Ann Robles of Alamo was allegedly driving her black pickup truck around 6:00 a.m. when she failed to slow down when traffic was being controlled and diverted due to the fatal investigation.
The pickup truck slammed into the rear of a McAllen Police Department vehicle, causing significant damage. Thankfully, the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Robles suffered minor injuries. She was treated at the hospital and released, at which point she was booked into the Hidalgo County jail for driving while intoxicated. Following booking, she was issued a $2,000 bond.
No officers were reported as injured from the collision.
