Florida Village Councilman Under Pressure to Resign After Vile Charlie Kirk Post

PALMETTO BAY, FL - In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s execution, which was witnessed in person by thousands and on social media by millions, unhinged liberals continue to reveal themselves for who they are…hateful, spineless, insane sociopaths who are dancing on the grave of a husband, father, and icon to millions of Americans, many of them young people.

Last week, Law Enforcement Today briefly mentioned a man named Steve Cody, a village councilman in Palmetto Bay, Florida, a Miami suburb located approximately 23 miles south. Let us dig into Mr. Cody and his vile, disgusting post in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder, as reported in The Liberty Daily.

Cody, who has likely never opened a Bible in his life, thought it would be hilarious to take Kirk’s support of the Second Amendment and co-inflate that with scripture, including his own attempt at sick humor: “Charlie Kirk is a fitting sacrifice to our Lords: Smith and Wesson. Hallowed be their names.”

Smith and Wesson, of course, refers to the gun manufacturer. The last part is taken from the Lord’s Prayer, a key devotion that millions of Christians recite each week either in church or as they engage in their daily devotions.

Cody displays a mentality that has reared its ugly head in the hours and days since Charlie Kirk…a devout Christian and an unapologetic conservative… was killed by one bullet to his neck during what was supposed to be a civil debate on the campus of Utah Valley University. Liberal loons have taken to painting Kirk as some radical right-wing racist, xenophobe, and homophobe, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Kirk had the courage of his convictions, but was always willing to debate anyone, anytime, anywhere, and allow them to prove him wrong. They never could.

As the writer in The Liberty Daily wrote, Cody used the killing of Kirk “as some twisted ritual payoff for political stances on self-defense. It’s the kind of rhetoric that doesn’t just attack a man’s ideas; it spits on the faith that guided him through years of building Turning Point USA and rallying the next generation against campus radicalism.”

Charlie Kirk was never afraid to go into the lion’s den. His appearance at Utah Valley was to be the first in The American Comeback Tour. At each of his stops, Kirk was going to have a “Prove Me Wrong” table where he would invite people with opposing viewpoints to come up and engage in a debate with him. Kirk never mocked people; he just overwhelmed them with facts, logic, and humility. Kirk was doing what many people from all factions in our country had been begging for…engaging in peaceful debate. For that, he took an assassin’s bullet to the neck.

Cody, the gutless puke that he is, immediately scrubbed the post from his social media after receiving backlash, but the Internet lasts forever. On Thursday night, Cody attempted to issue a mea culpa titled “I screwed up.”

“Yesterday, I regrettably made a significant error in judgment by sharing a quotation on my personal Facebook page that referenced remarks made by the deceased Charlie Kirk. This action, borne out of my deep anger and frustration with the now too common tragedy of gun violence, was misguided. I want to state unequivocally that this post did not and does not reflect my personal values, my deeply held beliefs, or my solemn responsibilities as an elected official. To the Kirk family, my sincere condolences during this difficult time, and my apologies for any statements I made that caused you further distress.”

“Error in judgment?” “Deceased Charlie Kirk?” “[D]id not and does not reflect my personal values, my deeply held beliefs, or my solemn responsibilities as an elected official?”

Sorry, Cody, we call bullshit. An error in judgment is when someone cheats on a test. Charlie Kirk wasn’t “deceased,” he was brutally executed. “Did not reflect my personal values, my deeply held beliefs?” You wrote what you wrote and had time to reflect on your “personal values” and “deeply held beliefs” before you hit enter, yet did it anyway. Sorry, bro, your “apology” rings hollow.

Cody took the time to think, “What part of scripture can I use to mock Charlie Kirk’s religious beliefs while also mocking his position on the Second Amendment?” Ah, yes, the Lord’s prayer and Smith & Wesson.

Like a good progressive liberal, Cody took to blaming the instrument used to murder Charlie Kirk instead of the sick, twisted ideology behind the assassin. His profile picture, The Liberty Daily reported, is an AI-generated image of President Trump screaming at a taco, a play on the ridiculous liberal talking point “Trump Always Chickens Out,” hatched to criticize the president for allegedly backing down on his tariff threats. To that, we say TAW–Trump Always Wins.

Florida Republicans wasted little time in eviscerating Cody, with U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez, a former Miami-Dade mayor who was previously a firefighter, slamming him:

‘Absolutely mortified by Palmetto Bay councilman Steve Cody’s mocking of Charlie Kirk’s death in real time. This is unbecoming of any elected official. Steve Cody must resign.”

Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, another Miami-area representative, also weighed in:

“How disgusting for Steve Cody, an elected official, to not only celebrate news of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, but also, sacrilegiously smear the name of an American Patriot who was passionate about his faith in the one true lord, Jesus Christ. Charlie wanted his legacy to be courage for his faith. People like Cody betray the trust of the very community they represent.”

On X, Ryan Fournier, national chairman of Students for Trump, asked his followers to expose Cody:

“PLEASE HELP ME expose Florida Democrat and Palmetto Bay Council Member Steve Cody. This pathetic slob went on Facebook to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death, sneering that the assassination was a ‘fitting sacrifice.’ SHARE FAR AND WIDE.”

Fournier has done yeoman’s work in exposing the vile and disgusting radical left after Charlie Kirk’s murder. From teachers to doctors to those in the private sector, Fournier has been exposing them for who they really are…hateful, psychotic lunatics who do not belong in polite society.

As a public official, Cody can be removed; however, it cannot be done through the recall process, as Palmetto Bay does not have such a provision. It is up to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who does have the power to remove him. Some X users have tagged the governor, asking him to evict Cody from public office.

Remember this–when George Floyd, a career criminal and drug user, died in Minneapolis, cities burned, businesses were looted, and police officers were seriously injured. When Charlie Kirk was shot to death in cold blood, there were peaceful vigils except for one, which was interrupted by a hateful leftist. No buildings were burned, no businesses were looted, and no police officers were injured.

Think about that. #WE ARE NOT THEM
