VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL - Newsflash for Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers who make “jokes” about killing the President of the United States... do not do it in Florida. Now, a Daytona Beach resident is finding that out the hard way.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Allison Jeanne Albro, 21, of Daytona Beach was arrested this week and charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily injury to President Trump, according to court records. Albro made the post in reference to an appearance by the president at a rally in support of GOP gubernatorial nominee U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds. The rally was scheduled for Friday evening.
In an Instagram post posted on Thursday, the TDS-suffering Albro wrote, “Going to the trump [sic] in my city tmr so I can shoot him with my glock! Wish me luck guys!!” The post was quickly detected by the FBI and U.S. Secret Service, who notified the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Albro was arrested later that day.
Albro, whose eyes tell the whole story, claimed she was making a “joke.”
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood announced the arrest in a Friday X post and said the sheriff’s office is collaborating with the FBI and Secret Service to safeguard the president’s safety during his visit Friday.
“We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president...[she] is learning that the hard way,” Chitwood wrote. “I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a ‘joke’ along these lines to think twice.”
“She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon and said she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device.”
After being contacted by the Secret Service, deputies spoke to Albro at her home, at which point she broke down crying and said she knew why they were there and that she had already taken down the post. She told deputies her mother told her she could get arrested for the post, an arrest warrant affidavit said.
Albro, who is a registered Republican, told investigators she does not like Trump but wasn’t planning on shooting anyone. Deputies did not find any firearms upon searching her home.
Albro remains in custody at the Volusia County jail, the outlet reported, although an inmate search was unable to locate her record.
