FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Earlier this month, Apex Shooting Center hosted the first-ever Florida Shooters Cup, showcasing incredible shooting talent from across Florida. Over a record-breaking weekend, Apex Shooting Center set new standards and awarded the largest cash prize to date in a Florida tournament at a whopping $50,000!

“We are thrilled to have hosted the Florida Shooters Cup at Apex Shooting Center. This event successfully brought together top shooters, novices, and enthusiasts, and we are proud to have set new records while highlighting Fort Lauderdale’s booming shooting sports scene,” Apex Shooting Center owner Victor Grillo said in a press release.

Grillo went on to add, “That being said, this tournament was more than just a competition- it’s a celebration of skill, responsibility, and community. We partnered specifically with the FOP to help promote their firearm safety initiatives. The funds raised will help them to expand their programs that educate and promote responsible firearm use throughout the state, making our communities safer for everyone.”

The event attracted over 300 participants from across Florida. The participants showcased their skills and precision in scenarios designed “to test every aspect of marksmanship. Participants also enjoyed an after-party hosted by Florida’s premier private gun club, Founder’s Shooting Club.

Several sponsors partnered with the Florida Shooters Club for the weekend event. Some of the esteemed sponsors highlighted in the press release from Apex Shooting Center included:

USCCA: Insurance for gun owners who want to protect their loved ones responsibly. This allows you to be ready to defend your life and prepare for what happens before, during, and after an act of self‐defense.

Sig Sauer: A leading firearms manufacturer, Sig Sauer showcased their latest products and hosted live demonstrations during the event.

Safariland: A US-based manufacturer of personal and other equipment focused on the law enforcement, public safety, military and recreational markets.

NRA: America's longest-standing civil rights organization, they were instrumental in promoting firearms safety and education throughout the leadup to the event.

Mike Plaskon, District Manager of South Florida, said, “As a sponsor of the Florida Shooters Cup, we are proud to support events that promote responsible shooting and community engagement. We believe in fostering a culture of safety within usage of firearms, and this event showcased just that.”

Not only is the Florida Shooters Cup a competition, it also showcases the spirit and passion of the shooting community. Apex Shooting Center looks forward to hosting more “events that inspire both newcomers and seasoned veterans alike to excel in their shooting journey.”
