Kamala Harris is attempting to portray herself as the law enforcement candidate in the race for President of the United States. Harris is a former United States Senator, Attorney General and prosecutor from California.

Despite her campaign’s insistence, many law enforcement professionals are pointing out issues with this.

"Let's be clear about something: If Kamala Harris becomes the next president of the United States, she will be an unmitigated disaster for public safety in this country," Joe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police and an active Houston Police Department lieutenant, told Fox News Digital.

Also disproving her campaign’s rebrand, Harris had in the past supported bail reform and even donated money to a bail fund for Back Lives Matter rioters. Some of the individuals supported by the fund had a history of theft, rape, and other violence.

Harris, an opponent of the cash bail system during her previous presidential campaign, promoted the Minnesota Freedom Fund in June 2020 to help bail Black Lives Matter rioters out of jail. However, only a fraction of the more than $41 million actually went to freeing rioters.

After more than a dozen years as a district attorney and then as California's attorney general, Harris' track record included a mix of soft-on-crime policies.

Several law enforcement professionals from Democratic-run cities are coming out against Harris, stating that she has done nothing to reduce crime in big cities.

Charles "Cully" Stimson, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a former prosecutor, told Fox News Digital that Harris uses the "exact same language" as Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and Sen. Bernie Sanders when they previously called for the defunding of police in the wake of the 2020 riots.

Here are some votes and decisions from Kamala Harris to spotlight how she really feels about law enforcement. As attorney general, she is seen to have failed to pursue equal justice under the law, hide conflicts of interest, and failed to enforce immigration laws, among many other infractions.

Harris is expected to keep up her image as a proud law enforcement supporter. She is expected to ramp up her campaign even more in the coming weeks, including the selection of a vice president running mate.
