A new partnership has been announced between Law Enforcement Today (LET), and GALLS®, the nation’s most trusted source for uniforms, tactical gear, and essential equipment for America’s public safety professionals, seeking to honor the nation’s youngest police leaders.
The “Next Generation of Protectors” initiative will recognize America’s Top 30 Officers Under 30, highlighting the impact of young officers who make significant contributions to their communities.
Nominations are open online via GALLS®’ dedicated webpage for 2025. LET and GALLS® encourage public submissions, urging everyone to “Nominate a Hero in Blue,” especially officers under 30 who are “making a BIG impact.”
Each nominee will be considered not only for the GALLS®–LET honors but will also be automatically forwarded to the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame, which will name a Young Officer of the Year coming up at their 2026 event.
The joint effort arrives amid shifting demographics within American police forces. With retiring ranks and rising calls for reform, the need to recognize leadership and community engagement among young officers has grown.
GALLS®, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, is known for supplying uniforms and gear to law enforcement, corrections, and fire and EMS personnel.
Through this initiative, the company aims to reinforce its support for the public safety community and underscore the diversity within modern policing.
The LET partnership with GALLS® on this project reflects the organization’s mission to elevate voices from within the profession and bridge connections with new audiences. The nominees will be reviewed by a selection panel comprising representatives from LET, GALLS®, and the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame. The winner will receive a prize pack from GALLS® and national recognition.
In recent years, police departments across the U.S. have battled staffing shortages, recruitment challenges, and shifting public perceptions. Highlighting young officers who exemplify community policing, crisis intervention, or innovative programs helps reinforce public trust and encourages others to pursue careers in public safety.
LET and GALLS® maintain that “Next Generation of Protectors” is designed to showcase excellence without detracting from reform efforts. “Let’s celebrate the future of law enforcement,” their campaign slogan reads in its effort to recognize those setting new standards of service.
Nomination submissions opened on July 14 via GALLS®’ website, where LET and GALLS® say they are “on the hunt for America’s Top 30 Officers Under 30.”
The page confirms that all nominees will be automatically forwarded to the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame’s Young Officer Award process.
