'Treason': Nearly half a million illegal immigrants with criminal records allowed into the U.S.

As Kamala Harris continues to gaslight the American people about the border, attempting to blame former President Donald Trump for the invasion there, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is not letting her off the hook.

According to Newsweek, a top ICE official said that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens with criminal convictions were on the agency’s non-detained docket. The non-detained docket refers to individuals who are released from detention with final deportation orders and those released who are awaiting an immigration court hearing.

Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner told Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) in a letter that 425,431 convicted criminals fit into the above category, along with 222,141 with pending criminal charges.

Gonzales told Fox News that those numbers were “astronomical,” while House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) called the contents “shocking.”

However, Aaron Reichlin-Melnick claimed that “millions of people on ICE’s non-detained dockets have been here for decades.” It is unknown how he arrived at “millions of people” since Lechleitner told Gonzales the number was just under half a million.

Meanwhile, Alex Nowrasteh of the pro-big business Cato Institute said the ICE report on illegal criminal convictions covers decades, not just the last few years.

"It may be shocking to hear that the Biden-Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case,” read a statement from Green’s office. “This defies all common sense.”

Newsweek reached out to the Harris campaign and ICE for comment, however, their silence was deafening.

In his letter, Lechleitner said that ICE is required by statute not to release certain noncitizens from its custody while removal proceedings were pending. He said most noncitizens convicted of homicide are not typically eligible for release from ICE custody.

Last week, Harris visited the border for the first time since she went to El Paso in 2021. In a post to X, she claimed Republicans blocked a so-called “bipartisan” border bill.

“President Biden and I supported the toughest and fairest set of bipartisan border security reforms in decades.

“Congressional Republicans voted against them–twice,” Harris wrote.

What Harris failed to mention is there were numerous problems with that bill, including the provision to allow 1.8 million illegals into the country annually before the president “could” shut it down. It would enshrine catch and release into US law, would require taxpayer-funded attorneys for illegals fighting deportation, would require the US to provide work permits to illegals, and would give amnesty to illegals.

It was, in other words, a piece of garbage.

Harris then also claimed that the administration “took executive action to reduce unlawful border crossings, which are now lower than when we took office.”

That is because the administration is now permitting entry at legal ports of entry and diverting illegal crossings to those ports. In other words, this is classic Harris lying.

Immigration is a losing issue for Democrats, with Trump earlier this year having a 35-point lead over Biden on the issue. Since Biden was removed from the ballot through a virtual coup by Harris and Democrats, she has sliced that margin to 21 points, NBC News polling showed.
