Harvard professor whose research found no racial bias in police shootings forced to hire armed security after radical blowback

A Harvard professor whose research went against the preferred, politically correct narrative of rogue cops gunning down minorities in the streets was forced to hire armed security guards when he went out in public, Fox News reports.

In an interview with Bari Weiss of The Free Press, Roland Fryer, a Harvard economics professor, discussed the public outrage he experienced after he published a study about racial bias among Houston, Texas, police officers.

That study confirmed what most in law enforcement already knew–that police officers are, in fact, less likely to use deadly physical force on blacks and Hispanics. While the study did confirm that police were more than twice as likely to use some type of physical force on those minority groups, they were 23.8 percent less likely to shoot black suspects and 8.5 percent less likely to shoot Hispanic suspects than they were to shoot at white suspects.

Fryer rightfully said his data showed “no racial differences in officer-involved shootings,” which resulted in “all hell” breaking loose while claiming it had a significant disruption on his life. In fact, it took a grand total of four minutes after the study was published for him to receive his first complaint, telling him he was “full of shit.”

Fryer said a bunch of unhinged people “lost their minds,” while even some of his colleagues criticized his research, refusing to accept the results of the study, with some insisting that he not print the data.

“I had colleagues take me to the side and say, ‘Don’t publish this. You’ll ruin your career,’” Fryer told Weiss.

Fryer, described as a “world-renowned economist” by Fox, quickly realized, based on comments he received from Harvard faculty, that he would get a lot of pushback. So much did he believe he would receive tremendous blowback from his study that, after finding no racial bias among police in deadly shootings, he hired eight new assistants and did the study over. The results were the same.

Fryer said after the results were published, he was forced to have police protection for about a month, noting he had a seven-day-old child at the time and had to be accompanied by armed security as he shopped for diapers.

“I was going to the grocery store to get diapers with the armed guard. It was crazy. It was really, truly crazy,” he said.

Fryer then became a target. The youngest tenured black professor at Harvard at age 30, Fryer was suspended for two years by Harvard in 2019 related to an allegation that he had engaged in “unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature.” He denies the allegations.

Ironically, it was serial plagiarist and former Harvard president Claudine Gay, a dean at the time, who slammed Fryer’s research and said his behavior with other employees at the university “exhibited a pattern of behavior” that didn’t rise to the expectations of the Harvard community.

“The totality of these behaviors is a clear violation of institutional norms and a betrayal of the trust,” Gay said at the time.

You may recall that Gay was forced to resign her position as Harvard president in January after her bizarre testimony before Congress, where she channeled anti-Semitic comments by refusing to tell lawmakers that Harvard students and faculty calling for the genocide of Jews violated Harvard’s policies on bullying and harassment.

After that testimony, people began to dig into Gay’s past and found her to have plagiarized a significant portion of her doctorate research.

Weiss asked Fryer if he believed Gay had been served a dose of karma by what happened to her concerning the plagiarism allegations.

“I hear it’s a motherf*cker,” he replied to Weiss.

Fox News said they reached out to Harvard for comment, however, none was received.

Sometimes it hard to accept the truth. He should be commended for his work, his integrity, and drive to do what's right. It's sad people have to worry about losing their lives for that.

Eddie

Don’t shoot the messenger.

Damn! There's just not enough racism in the police force anymore! What's the world coming to, anyway?

Rocco

If it doesn't fit the left's agenda, it gets suppressed, and the author is punished and threatened, even if the author is black. Black, White, Brown, or any variation, if you don't subscribe to the leftist agenda, they will come after you.

I think it's time for REAL AMERICANS to SHUT DOWN THE LEFT !

Chris

Congratulations Professor, you have discovered where the real racial bias is coming from. A real, "I have seen the enemy and they are us", moment.

The truth hurts. He was warned by his colleagues that he'll ruin his career. Actually the democrat libtards will ruin his career.

The ruling class fears an organized middle and lower class uniting so they try to divide us. It all started in colonial America where both black and white were separated according to race to make Whites feel better about their situation. They want labor to move freelu and fight for jobs, accepting the lowest wages they offer. Israel represents a state where persecuted jews are supposed to feel safe but goes against their notion of this free flowing immigration , So they conjure up ways to destroy the state of Israel even though they know it is the Palestinians who do not want to share, They have rejected their state hundreds of times, they want the river to the sea or everything. These global elites do not care about anything but their greed

Of course the Left/Woke would go ape shit. Their narrative was honestly destroyed and they, the Communist Elite, can't have that. But the report is not new, nor was it ever wrong. If one would simply gather the information from their local police, they would quickly find that the George Floyd narrative was wholly incorrect, a lie, and the Riots were instigated to generate fear in the local Politicians and Judges. Sadly it worked in most cities. An innocent policeman in prison for George overdosing on drugs and George, a known criminal to the end, made a Hero. Vilifying the innocent.
