LAKE COUNTY, TN - Authorities said that the deaths of four people who were found dead after a seven-month-old baby was abandoned in someone else's front yard will be investigated as homicides.
James M. Wilson, 21, Adrianna Williams, 20, Cortney Rose, 38, and Braydon Williams, 15, were all found deceased on Tuesday, July 29th, according to People. The discovery of the dead bodies was made amid the ongoing investigation into the abandonment of James and Adrianna's seven-month-old daughter.
On Tuesday, July 29th, at around 3:11 p.m., the infant was found in a baby seat abandoned in someone's front yard at a residence on Old Highway 20 in Dyer County, according to the Dyer County Sheriff's Office (DCSO).
"A dark-colored minivan or white mid-size SUV was reported to have dropped off an infant in a car seat at a random individual's front yard," the sheriff's office said. "Thankfully, a witness saw the car seat with the child and called 911."
After the baby was identified, the sheriff's office said they wanted to speak with Rose, Wilson, and Williams. However, later that evening, around 10:26 p.m., a 911 call reported that Rose and her daughter, Adrianna, were missing. The caller said during the call that they were actively searching around a home with a flashlight, Action 5 News reported.
Later that night, DCSO announced that four individuals had been discovered dead in Lake County, which is approximately 25 miles north of Dyer County.
On Wednesday, July 30th, District Attorney General Danny Goodman Jr. confirmed that the four deceased were related to the infant that was found abandoned. He said that a homicide investigation into the deaths is "active and ongoing."
He said that, along with several local agencies, the FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) are investigating the incidents. "We knew we were dealing with something more than your typical homicide, so I knew we were going to need the expertise of TBI," Goodman said.
Goodman said that this act against these people was not random. "There doesn't need to be a lot of concern in the community as far as their safety. This appears to be an isolated incident," he said.
"It's not that these people were randomly chosen. So, I don't think there needs to be any kind of concern or fear in the community," Goodman added. A TBI spokesperson confirmed that the deaths are being considered homicides and that investigators are working to develop information on the suspect(s) responsible.
"This is a deeply saddening day for our community," said DCSO Sheriff Jeff Box. "We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served." Anyone with information about this case should contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
