QUEENS, NY- A suspect being sought by the NYPD for allegedly raping a 15-year-old boy in the borough of Queens is apparently well known in the area where the assault occurred for luring kids and adults into bushes for sex, neighborhood residents told PIX-11 News.
Photos released by the NYPD showed an average sized suspect with long dark hair. Judging from the pictures, it is difficult to tell if it is a woman or a transvestite, however neighbors indicated it is a female.
The incident took place on June 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m. when the suspect lured the teen into an alleyway and performed a sex act on him, NYPD sources told the outlet.
Police said the victim was walking alone down a quiet tree-lined street when the suspect began conversing with him before the alleged attack.
One neighborhood resident told PIX11 News that she has seen the suspect roaming about the neighborhood several times.
“I just think it’s terrible. We are looking for ways to enhance security,” the resident said, refusing to appear on camera or identify herself.
“I hope the police can catch her because we do think she is local,” she added.
Another resident, Odysseus Rinaldi, 21, grew up in the neighborhood and said he wasn’t shocked by the incident.
“She has been antagonizing little kids for a while now, like years,” he said of the suspect.
NYPD has yet to make an arrest and asks anyone who may know who the suspect is to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577 TIPS (8477).
NYPD data shows that rapes are up 7% in the Big Apple thus far in 2026.
