NAMPA, ID - A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for solicitation to commit murder in connection with the July homicide that killed 19-year-old Jade Aliyah Ramirez.
Police previously arrested 18-year-old Alissa Mae Huerta in connection with the deadly crash for first-degree murder after detectives "determined the act of striking Ramirez with a vehicle was intentional," KTVB reported.
Upon further investigation, police also determined through witness statements, video evidence, and digital forensic analysis that Huerta's sister, 20-year-old Hannah Lee Huerta, "had engaged in extensive threatening communications with the victim via social media platforms" prior to the crash.
"Investigators determined Huerta played an active role in soliciting and facilitating the confrontation that resulted in the death of Ramirez," officials said in a press release, adding that she arranged the location for the meeting and directed Alissa Huerta to "strike the victim with her vehicle."
An arrest warrant was issued for Hannah Lee Huerta, and she was arrested on Friday, September 25, without incident by the Nampa Police Department's Persons Crimes Unit and Special Enforcement Team (S.E.T.). She was booked into the Ada County Jail.
On July 26, the Nampa Police Department (NPD) said officers responded to a report of a pedestrian, later identified as Ramirez, who was struck by a vehicle and injured. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries. A probable cause affidavit states that investigators said the driver left the scene. The driver was later identified as Alissa Huerta.
Later that same day, police reported that Alissa Huerta called 911 and said she had been involved in a fight with Ramirez. Court documents state that Alissa Huerta and Ramirez had been fighting for several months. The affidavit said Alissa Huerta told investigators that the conflict began after she had an intimate relationship with the father of Ramirez's child.
