LAS VEGAS, NV- A criminal illegal alien from the Philippines was taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody on Aug. 2, where he will remain pending removal proceedings, a press release issued by the federal agency stated. ICE Salt Lake City made the arrest.
Jaime Tan Francisco, 55, has been arrested for arson, domestic violence, and possession of a controlled substance. He has prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine and harassment, the release said.
“Francisco entered the U.S. in April of 2000 but violated the terms of his admission and went on to commit a series of crimes,” said ICE Director David Venturella. “He was convicted of misdemeanor harassment on July 5, 2006, and then of methamphetamine possession in 2014. On July 25 this year, Las Vegas police arrested him for domestic battery, using or possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, attempted arson, and drug possession. Criminal illegal aliens are unwelcome in the U.S., and ICE is partnering with state and local police to keep them off our streets and out of our communities.”
Francisco entered the United States via Detroit in April 2000. He was only supposed to remain in the country until Oct. 26, 2000, however he remained in the U.S. illegally.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin’s leadership, ICE is carrying out its mandate to enforce this nation’s immigration laws and remove public safety threats from American communities,” the release said.
