Conservative reporter Jamie White murdered near Austin residential area

AUSTIN, TX - Authorities are investigating after an InfoWars reporter was found dead in Austin on Sunday night, March 9th. Fox News reported that InfoWars founder Alex Jones announced that one of his reporters, Jamie White, was "brutally murdered."

The homicide, which is now Austin's eighth murder since the beginning of 2025, took place in the 2300 block of Douglas Street in South Austin, a residential neighborhood. Officers with the Austin Police Department (APD) arrived at the scene and found an "adult male with obvious signs of trauma." The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.

In a statement, InfoWars announced that it was "deeply saddened" to report White's death. The statement read, "We are deeply saddened to inform you that InfoWars Reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered around midnight Sunday night due, in part, to the policies of the Soros Austin, TX D.A. Jose Garza."

The statement added, "We pledge that Jamie's tragic death will not be in vain, and those responsible for this senseless violence will be brought to justice. Jamie's important work will be carried on through InfoWars, our readers, and our cherished listeners."

Komo News reported that Jones also spoke about White's murder during his broadcast, saying White was killed outside his home, which is "just a few miles away from our studios." He said, "We sent some people over this morning when he didn't answer the phone because he's always here early — loves to work, loves to fight tyranny, loves to promote freedom — and when they got to the apartment complex there was yellow tape everywhere, blood all over the parking lot."

Jones accused Garza of "aiding and abetting" in White's death by failing to control crime in the area. In a separate post on X, he wrote, "As we learn more about Jamie's brutal murder we will let everyone know."

White's sister, Kelly Kneale said that she doubts her brother was targeted. She said he was shot "by a person or persons trying to break into his car for the second time," adding that someone tried to break into his car around Christmas. She said, "A tragic accident, but we haven't heard much else. I hope whoever took his life is caught and brought to justice. My father and I are devastated, to say the least."

Detective Leah Ratliff said that an "ongoing investigation" is underway, adding that homicide detectives are not releasing information about the suspect(s). She said, "They will be releasing more information, though, as they are able to." On Tuesday, March 11th, Fox News reported that APD provided an update into White's death.

Police said in a statement, "The initial investigation shows that White was shot and killed in the parking lot of the apartment complex in which he lived. The suspects then fled the scene. Detectives believe the suspects were possibly burglarizing White's vehicle, when he interrupted them."

There were 57 crimes reported at White's apartment complex in 2024, including vehicle thefts, aggravated assaults, and at least one burglary. Yecca Aaron, a friend of White, said that the journalist stayed at work late before he was killed. Aaron said, "Literally right when he got home, all that happened. It's crazy that he's gone just like that."
