Urgent alert: IDF warns Hamas assisting cartels in constructing tunnels between Mexico and San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA - In Gaza, we have witnessed the sophistication of Hamas, which concerns the digging of tunnels. Now we are hearing they may be doing so much closer to home, American Thinker reports. 

According to Newsmax correspondent Jaeson Jones, a colonel with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) says that Hamas is assisting Mexican drug cartels in digging tunnels between Mexico and San Diego. 

According to CBP, the U.S. Border Patrol has discovered over 200 such tunnels since 2003. The last one reported on was in 2022 when a tunnel between Tijuana and San Diego was found. That tunnel was replete with air conditioning, electricity, and rail lines stretching over a mile. In other words, this was a very sophisticated operation. 

Jones interviewed IDF Col. Dany Tirza, who was responsible for planning the security infrastructure in the West Bank. 

“As we know, directly from Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, there is a group of Hamas that works with the syndicates in Tijuana to dig tunnels toward San Diego,” Tirza told Jones. He noted that Hamas engineers possess “special technology” that allows them to work and dig in sandy areas, noting it is technology “that the Mexicans [do not] have. And therefore they need people from Hamas” to construct tunnels in sandy terrain.

He continued that Hamas is “making a lot of money” by helping the cartels with their knowledge of building tunnels. 

That, of course, spells trouble not only for San Diego but also for the United States at large, with Mexican drug cartels now having the ability to smuggle drugs and illegal aliens into the country. That doesn’t discount the possibility that among those illegal aliens may be terrorists who wish harm on our country. 

San Diego Supervisor Jim Desmond also issued a stark warning about the city on X, “San Diego is leading the nation–and not in a good way. We account for 85% of all ‘Special Interest Aliens’--individuals with known ties to terrorism–who have been arrested, charged, or convicted of terrorism-related crimes by U.S. or foreign authorities. 

“This isn’t just a statistic–it’s a clear failure by the Federal Government, putting our communities and our country at risk.” 

There are a lot of similarities between Hamas and Mexican drug cartels. However, you wouldn't know if one only listens to the mainstream media. But the fact there appears to be an unholy alliance between Hamas and Mexican cartels spells trouble for our national security. Last October 7, we saw the carnage that Hamas terrorists can do, and that is with a secure border. 

Given the porous situation at our southern border, if Hamas decides to undertake such an operation hear, the death toll could be exponentially higher than what happened last year in Israel.
