WASHINGTON, D.C. - A bombshell report from the Washington Free Beacon revealed Thursday that Philip H. Gordon, National Security Advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris, seems to hold ties to a complex influence network operating at the behest of the Iranian government. The development led to an investigation into the Biden White House's Special Envoy to Iran, Robert Malley.
In a letter to Harris, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) who sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and House GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) who sits on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence explained, "We write to express concern about your national security advisor Mr. Philip Gordon’s connections to Ms. Ariane Tabatabai, a senior Department of Defense official who was reportedly involved in an Iranian government operation to expand Tehran’s soft power in the United States.
"During negotiations over the failed Iran nuclear deal, Ms. Tabatabai reportedly was a founding member of the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI), a group of policy analysts in America led by senior Iranian Foreign Ministry officials to propagate Iran’s objectives during the nuclear deal negotiations and bolster Tehran’s reputation."
As noted in a post to X by Alireza Nader, a former senior researcher at the RAND Corporation and a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), "Gordon has written several op-eds on #Iran with Ariane Tabatabai, a key member of the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI)." He added that The IEI has been described by @semafor &[Iran International English] as a political influence operation by the Islamic Republic."

Cotton and Stefanik noted, "In a March 2020 piece, Mr. Gordon and Ms. Tabatabai claimed continued sanctions on Iran would create “catastrophe” in the Middle East. In another, they wrote sanctions could lead to new Iranian efforts to “lash out with attacks on its neighbors, and on Americans and American interests in the Middle East.” Each prediction was as wrong, as it was biased in favor of Tehran."
In a statement cited by The Free Beacon, Stefanik wrote, "Since last year, I have demanded accountability from the Department of Defense for allowing Iranian regime acolytes to infiltrate high level government staff. The Biden-Harris Administration policy of appeasing Iran and abandoning Israel will only worsen if Kamala Harris and her Iranian apologist staff are elevated. I am proud to join Senator Cotton to demand accountability."
As reported by The Daily Wire Friday, Gordon, having previously served as Special Assistant to the President and White House Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf Region, was elevated to Harris' National Security Advisor in 2022.
He infamously wrote in The New York Times in 2017, suggesting that President Trump, "Keep quiet and do nothing,” regarding popular protests popping up in Iran at the time. He suggested, “We can be fairly certain that high-profile public support from the United States government will do more harm than good…. if Iranians do choose to rise up and push aside their government, it will not be the result of support from Washington," advice that many have argued was decidedly in Tehran's favor.

Obviously, those who are supposed to be looking out for America's welfare and best interests are instead, looking out for the interests of our enemies. I think that's called TREASON !!!
