LOUISVILLE, KY - Two 40-year-old twin sisters from Kentucky were arrested earlier this month after authorities claim the duo had been stalking and harassing corrections officers in Louisville for several weeks. Police say the two would monitor corrections officers coming and going from work, as well as allegedly sending threatening messages.
Louisville Metro Police arrested sisters Shavonne and Kevonne Gore on July 15 on charges of second-degree stalking and harassment, with Kevonne also facing an additional DUI charge, after authorities claim the two were stalking local corrections officers for several weeks.
Although the sisters reportedly gave investigators conflicting statements regarding their motive, both at some point indicated the alleged stalking was partially influenced by an issue involving another unspecified inmate at the correctional facility.
Police say for approximately five weeks prior to the duo’s arrest, the Gore sisters would routinely stake out the Metro Corrections facility while reportedly calling out and taunting officers coming and going from the facility. Authorities were first notified about the alleged stalking on June 7, with a corrections officer telling police Kevonne had called them by their name outside the facility and made a threatening gesture.
Police say the Gore sisters stalked and recorded corrections officers, with one officer even receiving texts of his home and that of his ex-wife’s.
One of the messages allegedly sent by the suspects reportedly read, “Don't think the games that you started came to an end cause I will find you one way or another.” That same officer also reportedly found a black rose left on their vehicle the day they received the aforementioned text message.
Authorities claim the Gore sisters also established a sock puppet social media account under a pseudonym which mirrored one of the corrections officer’s daughter’s nicknames, allegedly using the social media account to further harass the officer and send photos of their home.
The sisters were finally taken into custody following an alarming allegation where police claimed one of the sisters was standing outside the Metro Corrections facility and yelled at one of the officers by name, followed by, “I got something for you. You better watch your back.”
While initially detained, authorities say Kevonne showed signs of impairment and was also charged with DUI following the alleged harassment incident outside the facility. The two have since posted bond after bail was set at $10,000 with their next scheduled court appearance slated for July 27. Per the terms of their pretrial release, a judge ordered that the Gore sisters have no contact with any of the victims in the case.
