ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO- The next time you hear a progressive Democrat wail “nobody is above the law,” refer them to the following case, which should disgust anyone with more than a few brain cells to rub together.
An illegal alien teen who killed a 24-year-old Colorado woman during a high-speed crash will not spend a day in jail after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors, Fox News Digital reports.
The 15-year-old illegal, who was not identified due to his age, was sentenced to two years’ probation and 100 hours of community service in connection with the July 2024 killing of Kaitlyn Weaver, her father, John Weaver, told Fox News Digital.
Arapahoe County District Attorney Amy Padden offered the killer a plea deal in exchange for admitting his guilt.
This wasn’t just an “accident” in the common understanding of such a crash. The suspect was racing a jeep with other youths at speeds of 90mph in a residential neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado, when he broad-sided Weaver’s car at an intersection, John Weaver said.
“It was an instantaneous death,” he said.
Kaitlyn was stopped at a stop sign, talking to her boyfriend on speakerphone, when the illegal alien slammed into her vehicle. Although legally brain-dead, she was kept on life support for two days before she was finally removed and her organs donated.
The suspect was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, with the Weavers being told by prosecutors that the case was a “no plea offer” case, John Weaver told Fox.
That held until January, when the progressive DA, endorsed by Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D), told the Weavers her office was negotiating a plea deal involving probation. Padden also received $160,000 from the George Soros-funded Colorado Working Families Party, according to an X post from Virginians 4 Safe Communities.
“They said by doing two years’ probation, that’s probably more than the judge would give if he pleaded guilty,” John Weaver said. “You don’t have to participate in a bad system. If the judge wanted to sentence him to less, that’s the judge’s issue. What happened in this case is you (prosecutors) created it into your issue. Now you’re part of the problem.”
Attorney Matthew Durkin, who represents the Weaver family, called the deal “abhorrent” and noted that Kaitlyn Weaver was killed in the prime of her life.
John Weaver slammed the US immigration system for his daughter’s death, saying, “We had a collision where the immigration system and the criminal justice system collided, and now my daughter’s dead.”
“She was an amazing human,” John Weaver told FOX & Friends last week. “She spent her life trying to help people.”
The illegal alien took the Jeep, which was uninsured, without his mother’s permission, according to local news sources. His mother told law enforcement authorities that she planned to return him back to Colombia, however, he has since applied for asylum.
Arapahoe County District Attorney Ryan Brackley said that he “unequivocally” condemns the killer’s “reckless and unlawful behavior, which had devastating and irreversible results.”
“We believe the conviction to the highest charge in this case and the negotiated sentence acknowledges the seriousness of this preventable tragedy, and that no legal outcome can truly make up for the profound loss and void Kaitlyn’s loved ones will live with permanently.”
So, we are expected to believe that the “negotiated sentence acknowledges the seriousness of this preventable tragedy?” Zero jail time? You simply cannot make this stuff up.
Earlier this week, Padden wrote what is possibly the most tone-deaf Facebook post ever written by a “law enforcement” official:
We acknowledge Kaitlyn Weaver’s death was the direct result of a crash caused by an unlicensed teenager driving at nearly twice the posted speed limit. This tragic loss is a powerful reminder that it is not just alcohol or drug-impaired driving that takes lives. Driving at dangerous speeds has deadly consequences, too, and they are felt by our entire community.”
Yes, felt by everyone but Padden, who never addressed the fact that this punk shouldn’t have been in the country in the first place. Padden speaks about a “tragic loss,” yet the person who was operating in a residential neighborhood at over twice the speed limit gets off without spending an hour in jail.
You really have to wonder–how do these people sleep at night?

I use to live in Colorado most of my life. I don’t remember there being so many idiots in office then. Time the criminals are treated like criminals no matter what age they are. Illegals committing a deadly crime is even worse. Throw him I. Jail & when he gets out deport him. Do not give someone like this asylum.

this is obscene. My heart goes out to the Father of this young woman. 90 miles per hour? 15, which means he should not have been behind the wheel. Colorado, shame on you for letting this happen. Shame on you for voting for this. The judge and DA aren't just giving this boy probation; they're giving him asylum, they're giving him a way to remain in this country. This is TDS at its worst.

Really sad we lost her to the Democrats plan to import illegal votes. They don't specify when this illegal will be deported. He should be doing 25 years in prison with immediate deportation on release. With this abomination, he needs to be deported now.

Trump has a new deportation strategy. Since this punk won’t be in prison, he and his illegal alien mother should both be deported immediately. NOBODY wants to split up this family…
