Former police chief issues urgent warning, says the left is now planning on defunding the Supreme Court

WASHINGTON, DC - While we often hear the left complain the right is trying to “undermine our Democracy,” more often than not, whatever the left is accusing someone of doing, they are doing it themselves. Now, they are targeting the Supreme Court.

We’ve heard often since January 6, 2021, about Republicans staging a revolution against our “sacred foundations.” Yet when it comes to the most fundamental responsibility of government, protecting the country “from all enemies foreign and domestic,” the left takes the side of both.

After the George Floyd death in Minneapolis, leftists nationwide demanded police be defunded. Some of the more radical elements demanded that the police be disbanded. Instead of defending those who enforce the rule of law, the far left (and what remains of the moderate left) jumped on board.

After the installation of Robert Peters, aka Joseph Biden, as president, the left celebrated as the Biden administration nearly completely dismantled our borders, allowing millions of illegals to enter the country. Some of those illegals were on terror watch lists, and many were convicted criminals.

Last year, when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and returned the abortion issue to the states where it belonged, they turned their sights to the nation’s highest court. SCOTUS followed up the Roe ruling with decisions striking down restrictive gun laws, which was about as much as the radicals were willing to take.

Among proposals floated by the left is to “stack” the Supreme Court by expanding the number of justices, thereby allowing the cognitive mess Joe Biden to appoint between three to five liberal justices, who would “restore order” to the court. When leftists don’t get their way, they are not afraid to burn the system down to achieve their goals.

Stacking the court has proven not as popular with Americans as the radical leftists had hoped. According to Revolver News, they have a new scheme…defund the Supreme Court.

Of course, the radical left learned their lesson from their defund the police debacle. They’re not saying they want to defund the Supreme Court. They claim they want to make the high court sleeker with less staff by “cutting back on law clerks.” In their typical temper tantrum style, the radicals are trying to make it more difficult for the Supreme Court to do its job.

According to a tweet by far-left Slate magazine, they write that “Congress should consider a more targeted response to the court’s second-guessing that can be implemented through budget reconciliation,” a move that would only require a majority vote in the Senate.

“Specifically, Congress can use its power of the purse to reduce the number of authorized law clerks. Law clerk reduction would allow Congress to signal its disapproval of judicial imperialism while making imperial decisions harder to engage in.” [emphasis added]

Whoever wrote this tweet for Slate has lagging knowledge of how our republic operates. The three branches of government act as a system of checks and balances. When the Supreme Court blessed gay marriage, the left celebrated. When John Roberts redefined what a “tax” is, they jumped for joy. Don’t get their way? “We’re going to hold our breath until we turn blue!”

Slate believes that reducing the number of clerks at the Supreme Court would hamper the justices’ ability to hear cases since fewer people would sort through the thousands of appeals the court receives. Moreover, it would hamstring their ability to help write decisions. In other words, the radicals want to tie the hands of the Supreme Court altogether, all because they didn’t get their way.

We often hear from the left that “elections have consequences,” words that one Barack Obama famously uttered. The appointments of “conservative” justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh directly resulted from Donald Trump winning the presidency. Credit must also be given to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who refused to put forth the nomination of far-left radical Merrick Garland for a seat on the high court when Republicans held the majority.

There are currently people in jail with lengthy prison sentences for their participation, as limited as it was in some cases, in the January 6 incident at the US Capitol, accused of planning an “insurrection” against the United States. In that case, an unarmed military veteran named Ashli Babbitt was the only person killed. Few protesters were charged with weapons violations; most were either trespassing or parading on the Capitol grounds.

Yet we have Slate suggesting kneecapping the Supreme Court, which would have much further implications than anything that occurred on January 6, 2021. It is unknown if anyone in authority is taking Slate’s suggestion seriously, but the leftist media in this country is typically in lockstep with the Democrats.

How ironic that the same screaming banshees who still carry on about January 6, claiming it was an “assault on our sacred democracy,” are silent about this.

That tells you they quietly approve of Slate’s recommendation.
