Law Enforcement Today recently partnered with a high-profile businesswoman and philanthropist, Trudy Jacobson. Trudy is also a strong supporter of law enforcement and the military.

She currently spends her retired days highlighting American women making outstanding achievements personally and professionally - a series called Great American Women. We collaborated and expanded on that idea to highlight women making impactful differences within the law enforcement and military community.

"Trudy already knows women are underrepresented in many industries. So we decided to follow her lead and recognize American women making a significant positive difference in the law enforcement profession. We're calling this new collaborative series Great American Warrior," said Kyle Reyes, the owner of Law Enforcement Today.

In fact, if you ask the average civilian what percentage of police officers are female, most would say very few. And they would be right.

According to Statista, 87% of law enforcement officers in the United States are male. And just over 80% of all servicemembers are male, too.

It is one of the reasons why female officers and servicemembers are forgotten as members of the first responder and military community.

Not only are women instrumental in accomplishing the mission, but countless women across America are doing much more than just being officers or servicemembers.

They are making a significant difference.

Many American women are doing things to better our country. Whether they are current or former law enforcement professionals, spouses of LEOs, or a woman with a big heart who wants to give back to the first responder and veteran community – these heroic women are out there.

Some have started productive and effective nonprofit organizations serving our country's heroes. Others have found ways to change policing within their department. And some have dedicated their lives to helping others. Many of these women have incredible personal experiences that serve as an inspiration to people across the globe.

Female Warriors Today

These heroic women are everywhere.

A warrior like Jen Satterly, founder of the All Secure Foundation. She gave up her successful film production career to study and learn about Post Traumatic Stress. She wanted to find out why her retired Delta Force husband struggled with his mental health so much after retiring.

She saved his life.

Or a warrior like Ashlie Walton. Her husband is a police officer assigned to the Crimes Against Children unit. She understands how the law enforcement profession can be stressful, so she left her full-time job and  dedicated herself to helping cops with their mental health.

Or another warrior like Air Force veteran Kara Smith of DeliverFund, a nonprofit organization aimed at hunting down human traffickers. Kara is committed to bringing awareness to the dark underworld of human trafficking and helps women and children all over America.

It is women like these whose stories we want to tell you. We want to honor and recognize these women for their efforts. We want to know what motivates them, what drives them, and why. And by telling their stories, we can help them with their mission. This will, in turn, help people.

Let us tell their stories.

Our Inspiration

This new series is inspired by a philanthropic friend of LET and former Fortune 200 CEO, Trudy Jacobson. Trudy has achieved tremendous business success in the corporate world. But she has never lost sight of what is important to her: the law enforcement and military community.

Trudy is a strong supporter, believes in our mission, and wants to give back.

She now focuses on telling the stories of women across the country who are achieving great success, have overcome adversity, and serve as a source of inspiration for other women.

And Trudy has inspired us as we want to expand on her philanthropic ideas.

Contact us if you know any women who would be a great candidate for the Great American Warrior series.

They deserve it.
