SLIDELL, LA- Well, this takes “drive-in service” to a whole new level.
The New York Post reports that an illegal alien, apparently in desperate need of driving lessons, committed the ultimate boo boo when she ran a red light and was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Louisiana. Unfortunately for her, the vehicle she crashed into belonged to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), authorities said.
“This blooper is one for the books!” exclaimed U.S. Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino in a Facebook post.
A female Honduran national and illegal alien, who ICE did not identify, allegedly ran a red light in Slidell and slammed into the ICE vehicle that was deployed in the area as part of Operation Catahoula Crunch, which Law Enforcement Today recently reported on.
The operation is designed to deploy ICE agents in the New Orleans area as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to apprehend and deport illegal aliens, many of whom entered the country under Joe Biden’s open border policies.
Thus far, ICE has arrested approximately 370 individuals as part of the operation, WVUE reported.
Bovino said nobody was injured in the crash and said the woman was taken into custody.
“Unlucky for her. Lucky for us,” Bovino said.
The Post reached out to ICE for further information on the illegal’s identity and where she was being held, however the agency did not immediately respond.
“Apparently, she never learned the lesson that red means stop, not ‘accelerate and collide with a government vehicle actively enforcing federal law,” Bovino said in the Facebook post.
It is expected that ICE and other federal agencies will deport over half a million illegal aliens by the end of 2025, while over two million illegal aliens have left the country since President Trump took office in January, according to data released early in October.
The Trump administration has prioritized sealing the borders as a priority in his second term, and the Department of Homeland Security reports that border encounters are down 37% from when Biden occupied the Oval Office.
