ATLANTA, GA- Authorities with Cobb County said that a man has been arrested after allegedly brutally beating and raping a 74-year-old woman at her home and in front of her five-year-old granddaughter.
According to reports, the suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Ahmad Laureik Rucker. He has been arrested on a dozen charges including rape and multiple counts of battery in the attack, which happened at the victim's home in Mableton at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13th.
The arrest warrant states that Rucker, also of Mableton, allegedly entered the victim's home "without authority with the intent to commit elder abuse, rape, aggravated sodomy, battery, and second degree cruelty to children." Rucker is accused of breaking the victim's left shoulder, repeatedly striking her in the face — breaking her nose and bruising her eyes and lip — and raping her.
The arrest warrant states that the victim's five-year-old granddaughter witnessed the assault. Rucker has been charged with rape, four counts of battery, two counts of aggravated sodomy, aggravated battery of a person 65 years or older, exploiting a disabled or elderly person, false imprisonment, second-degree cruelty to a child, and first-degree burglary.
The police report states that the elderly victim was taken to the hospital via an ambulance due to her extensive and severe injuries. She told police that she did not know Rucker and that he had entered her home "randomly." Rucker is being held at the Cobb County Jail without bond.
In York County, Pennsylvania, police announced the arrest and identity of the man who robbed and brutally assaulted an elderly woman. According to ABC27, an arrest warrant was obtained by West York Borough Police for 41-year-old Frank Brannon Jr. for the robbery and assault of a 70-year-old woman on Thursday, December 12th.
His alleged accomplice, 36-year-old Rebecca Santiago, was also arrested and charged by police. Authorities allege that she acted as a lookout during the incident. Court records show that Brannon Jr. faces felony charges of robbery, conspiracy, and aggravated assault. He also faces misdemeanor charges of theft, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and receiving stolen property.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim left the Bravo Supermarket and was walking toward the read of her home when she was "violently" pushed by Brannon Jr. He then took her wallet and purse, which had $100 in it. The woman reportedly suffered a fractured right clavicle and was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Surveillance video that police obtained from the supermarket showed the duo following the woman after she left, and eventually, they split up, as Brannon Jr. continued to follow the woman. The complaint shows they are then seen meeting back up after the incident, running from the scene. Police interviewed Santiago who was arrested on unrelated charges and admitted to the incident.
