Man suspected of killing five adults and critically injuring a 13-year-old girl dead by suicide following manhunt

LAS VEGAS, NV - A gunman suspected of shooting six people, leaving five dead and one in critical condition has killed himself following a manhunt that lasted throughout Monday night.

The North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) received reports of a shooting at around 10:00 p.m. Monday night. Upon arrival to the apartment complex on Casa Norte Drive, police initially found two women with gunshot wounds, according to CNN.

Both women, one in her late 50s and one in her early 40s, were later pronounced dead by medical professionals.

A third victim, a 13-year-old female was later located by police with a gunshot wound. According to police, she remains in critical condition at UMC Trauma Center.

Upon further investigation, police then located three more victims at a second apartment in the complex who had all suffered gunshot wounds. A man in his early 20s and two women in their mid-20s were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to NLVPD, the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Eric Adams, fled the scene and an overnight manhunt ensued.

Around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, police received a tip that Adams had been located at an East Lake Meaded Boulevard business. Adams fled into a nearby backyard when the police arrived.

“Officers began giving Adams verbal commands to drop the firearm, however, Adams ignored those commands and died by suicide,” a news release from the North Las Vegas Police Department stated.

This investigation remains ongoing.
