PORTLAND, OR- Only in a blue state.
In Oregon, a member of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is a calorically challenged woman (we think) who told a state panel meeting that she identifies as a “turtle.” Yet these people expect to be taken seriously.
JD Holt announced she uses “they, them, and turtle” for their preferred pronouns during a meeting in December, the Daily Mail reported.
“Hello everybody, it’s JD. I use they, them, and turtle for my pronouns. I’m in the Springfield-Eugene area and I get to be part of the council,” Holt said during the advisory council meeting.
As a point of information, the OHA’s mission statement says in part that it seeks to ensure that “all people and communities can achieve optimum physical, mental, and social well-being…” [emphasis added]
So, a member of the OHA who identifies as a turtle is supposed to help people achieve mental well-being. O…K…
The clearly “stable” Holt wrote in a post on January 29 offering advice on disrupting federal immigration authorities. Hold suggested people yell and scream at federal immigration authorities to make their jobs as “difficult and uncomfortable” as possible.
Given that Oregon has clearly been exposed to the liberal pathogen from its neighbor to the south, California, Holt isn’t the first member of the OHA to go off the rails. The Daily Mail reported that at an earlier meeting, a member of the OHA introduced themselves as “Luke A Shooting Star.”
The OHA manages Oregon’s health-related programs and writes that every member of the Consumer Advisory Council, which operates under the OHA, brings perspectives that “are highly valued.”
“In following Oregon statute, every member of the Oregon Consumer Advisory Council is someone with lived experience, bring [sic] the voice and experiences of people across the state that have experienced behavioral health challenges,” OHA spokesperson Amber Shoebridge said in a statement to Fox News Digital. Clearly.
The OHA’s responsibilities include investigating, evaluating, and recommending the state’s behavioral health resources.
Holt is considered a “consumer” on the Consumer Advisory Council, one of two dozen such members. According to The New York Post, Gender Wiki includes “turtlegender” -also dubbed “tortoisegender” as a legitimate “xenogender” identity in which a person “feels a gendered connection to turtles.” Seriously.
“One may feel their gender is replaced by a “turtle” or their gender is best described with the use of turtles,” the site states. No, it’s not part of The Babylon Bee.
Shoebridge told Fox News Digital that members of the OHA “represent independent, consumer-run organizations” and “consumer-run advocacy organizations” that are active in the state.”
According to the Daily Mail, the committee’s 2023-2025 budget stood at $35.8 billion.
