Michigan prosecutor attempts to discredit Sheriff and 'usurp' his investigation into voting machines

BARRY COUNTY, MI - Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf has been the center of attention surrounding Michigan election fraud. On March 7, 2024, Leaf received a subpoena for a law enforcement file from Muskegon County prosecutor D.J. Hilson.

Leaf claims that the subpoena “is an attempt to obstruct” his investigation that allegedly involves foreign nationals from Serbia.

WoodTV News8 reported that Hilson confirmed that the subpoena was filed “for Leaf’s records as part of his case in Oakland County against three Trump supporters indicted by a citizens grand jury for accessing and tampering with Dominion voting tabulators.”

In that case, investigators say that a total of five tabulators were taken from three Michigan counties and delivered to a hotel room. The tabulators were allegedly broken into and tested.

Former GOP Attorney General candidate Matthew DePerno is said to have been present in the hotel room and is one of the three charged in the case. Also being charged are former GOP State Representative Daire Rendon and attorney Stefanie Lambert. Their trial is set to begin on April 1, 2024.

Leaf filed an affidavit on March 8, 2024 in response to the subpoena, saying in part, “My department is in possession of sensitive documents that are part of an ongoing investigation involving Dominion employees. These Dominion employees directed and tasked Serbian foreign nationals to remotely access the Michigan election system. I am not willing to compromise my investigation by providing my entire file.

“I intend to file a Motion to quash the subpoena attached as well as a civil lawsuit against the Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson for attempting to usurp my investigation. D.J. Hilson worked with AG Dana Nessel and successfully buried the Muskegon County fraud that is now under investigation by the F.B.I. The Muskegon County Prosecutor failed to appropriately prosecute as requested by the Muskegon Police Department.”

Sheriff Leaf had long argued that various Michigan officials have attempted to usurp his powers. In 2022, The Detroit News reported that the Michigan State police wanted Leaf’s lawsuit dismissed due to a lack of signature.

The closing line of Leaf’s March 8 affidavit, said, “Attorney Lambert has been working for me, and my office, since December of 2020, and I believe this subpoena is an attempt to obstruct and delay my very serious investigation.”
