Police Chief Betrays Oath, Tells Residents to Call Cops On ICE. It's Time For Him To Resign In Disgrace.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN- Law Enforcement Today has never been shy about calling out imbecile police chiefs. See former Austin, TX, and Miami, FL, police chief Art Acevedo as an example. Fortunately for Acevedo, he is now off the hook as the worst chief we’ve ever called out on this site.

Meet Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara, who is not only an embarrassment to his Irish heritage but to police leaders nationwide and the law enforcement profession in general.

Last month, O’Hara groveled to the Somali segment of the community and apologized because he accurately described the so-called “Dinkytown” area of Minneapolis for exactly what it is...a crime-riddled hellhole inhabited primarily by “East African” kids who descend on the community and commit crime, just like their forbears did in Somalia.

During an interview, O’Hara was speaking about a Halloween shooting that occurred in Dinkytown, an area plagued by crimes including assaults, robberies, shootings, and auto thefts.

O’Hara noted that those committing crimes in the area were not “poor kids from Minneapolis,” but instead kids from out of town who “take mommy’s Mercedes-Benz to Dinkytown and they don’t know where they are.”

“Groups of kids, groups of East African kids that are coming from surrounding communities and not just one community, kind of all over the place,” O’Hara told WCCO.

That comment sparked the Somali community, which launched an online petition demanding an apology. The ever-sensitive Somalis who were allowed into our country because their country is such a craphole, were already being scrutinized after it was revealed they were more of an organized crime organization than oppressed people seeking refuge.

Investigative journalist Christopher Rufo found that Somalis in the Minneapolis area were sending money back to Somalia, where it was then directed to the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. As a result of that report, President Trump announced the gravy train was ending, and he was revoking Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Minnesota Somalis.

O’Hara bent his knee and apologized like the feckless dimwit he is.

“The Somali community here in Minneapolis has been welcoming and has shown love towards me, and I appreciate it,” O’Hara told a hastily-called news conference last week. “Over the last three years we have been working together to try and address some of the real serious problems that we have in our community.

[...]

“At the same time, if people have taken anything that I have said out of context in a way that’s caused harm, I apologize, and I'm sorry for that because that’s not my intention at all,” O’Hara said, no doubt holding back a tear or two.

Our advice to Minneapolis cops—get out...quickly.

O’Hara’s ankle-grabbing was bad enough, but it has gotten much worse.

This week, O’Hara told Minneapolis residents to call 911 if they see ICE agents “kidnapping” people as the Trump administration begins an immigration crackdown in the Twin Cities.

“We have experienced reports in this city...where people call to say that there’s folks that are masked, that they’re not sure if they’re law enforcement, that they may be kidnapping people. We have those reports,” O’Hara said with a straight face during a news conference.

Let us remind the “esteemed” chief of a pesky little clause found in the United States Constitution called the Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2). Federal laws, including immigration laws passed by Congress, are the “Supreme Law of the Land,” meaning federal law takes precedence over state law. The Constitution definitely takes precedence over the whim of a gutless police chief. Our question is, what exactly are Minneapolis police going to do if they receive such a call?

“The community should know that if you see something like that, that is legitimate, that you don’t know if someone is law enforcement, you should call 911 and you should provide as much information as possible,” O’Hara said, adding that police “absolutely have a duty to intervene” in such cases.

Considering that liberals continually bloviate about the Trump administration “violating the law,”  by blowing drug-running boats out of the water, there appears to be no such concern over O’Hara attempting to pit his police officers against federal law enforcement agents.

O’Hara’s bizarre statement came after equally feckless Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey claimed that ICE is “targeting Somali people” based on their appearance. Frey, without evidence, said it is “inevitable” that ICE would pick up American citizens in the operation.

The claim that ICE agents are not easily identified is a lie. All ICE agents engaged in enforcement operations wear clothing that easily identifies them as ICE agents or other federal law enforcement authorities. ICE agents are masked because they don’t want to be doxed by unhinged liberal whackjobs, putting their lives and that of their families in danger. O’Hara and Frey don’t seem to take issue with masked rioters attacking ICE agents and their own police officers. The sudden outrage is hilarious.

O’Hara’s attempt to pit local law enforcement against federal agents is a recipe for disaster. He is putting not only federal agents at risk, but he is also risking injury or worse to his police officers.

As suggested earlier, Minneapolis police officers would be well-served in getting out of that department because it is clear that your chief is a political hack who is more interested in serving the whims of Frey and the equally unhinged governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, than in upholding the law.

Police officers are sworn to, first and foremost, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Policies put in place by a gutless police chief are subservient to that duty.
