Former North Carolina High School Tennis Coach Arrested in Child Sex Crime Case

GREENSBORO, NC - A 71-year-old man has been arrested for an alleged sex crime against a child. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) announced that deputies initiated an investigation on September 1 involving a juvenile victim.

A few days later, on September 5, deputies arrested 71-year-old Luster Coronelious Parker, WFMY2 reported. He has since been charged with one count of felony indecent liberties with a child. He is being held at the Guilford County Detention Center under $5,000 secured bond.

Parker was reportedly a former Panther Creek High School women's tennis coach. The high school said that the alleged conduct was not related to any incidents involving students or occurring on campus. The district also confirmed that Parker is no longer employed there.

In Ithaca, New York, police arrested a man for alleged sexual abuse of a child. On September 3, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the report of an adult engaging in sexual acts with a child in the area of Seneca Street Parking Garage, WBNG reported. 

Upon arriving on scene, officers were able to locate and identify the suspect as 31-year-old Zachariah Waite. The victim who was with him was 13 years old. Waite has been charged with sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and public lewdness. He was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
