Oregon man allegedly kidnaps and sexually abuses 74-year-old woman for three days over Christmas holiday

PORTLAND, OR - In a shocking case from Portland, Oregon a 69-year-old man was placed under arrest on charges that he held a 74-year-old woman against her will and sexually abused her for several days over Christmas in her own home.

As reported by local outlet KPTV, the victim told police that she was walking home from a nearby grocery store when she stopped briefly to rest, letting down the grocery bags she was carrying when the suspect, Kenneth Gregory Williams, allegedly approached her.

Williams offered to help her, the woman said, and picked up her grocery bags, and carried them to her home where he then allegedly barricaded the door shut, trapping the woman inside with him.

Over those three days, the woman said Williams sexually assaulted her repeatedly until she was able to convince the man to leave on December 26. She was then able to leave the house to seek help and treatment at a nearby hospital.

Detectives with the Portland Police Bureau were able to identify Williams based on the victim’s testimony and succeeded in locating and arresting him on January 5. The suspect was booked into the Multnomah County jail and is facing charges for three counts of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree coercion, and first-degree burglary per KPTV.

According to Andy Ngo, Senior Editor of The Post Millennial, the PPB is seeking additional information about the suspect and asking any possible witnesses to come forward.

Mike Benner with the Portland Police Bureau told KGW, "We cannot imagine what this woman went through. Absolutely horrifying. No one should have to go through something like this. It's in our human nature, right, to think the best in everybody, but this is a case where this man had bad intentions. He took advantage of a woman who simply wanted some help."

Police told the outlet that they believe there could be additional victims and unreported cases and have asked any members of the public with information to contact Detective Michael Bledsoe at michael.bledsoe@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 24-332946.
