POLK COUNTY, FL - Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd made a shocking allegation in a press conference earlier this week, stating that the federal government is complicit in human trafficking, helping to facilitate the movement of human trafficking victims throughout the country.
Fox News Digital reports that Judd’s revelation came about during a press conference this week where he was discussing the arrests of 228 people in a wide-ranging human trafficking crackdown. Judd also slammed Washington, DC lawmakers he accused of pushing lax immigration policies. There were 21 illegal aliens among those arrested in the operation, code-named “Operation Match Sadness.”
The operation, which lasted eight days, saw multiple law enforcement agencies cooperate in the crackdown, which resulted in the arrests of individuals, including military members, teachers, coaches, and medical professionals.
Among the illegal aliens included people from Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced.
“We have a crisis at the border. And because of the crisis at the border, we have people that are victimizing illegal folks, forcing them into the sex trade,” Judd said. “Because we allow these criminals in the country illegally. We all rail about this, and nobody pays attention.”
During the presser, Judd held up a sign with images of sex trafficking suspects that read, “Federal Policy Drives Illegal Immigration and Victimization.”
Judd noted that in one case, a suspect visited Florida, having traveled from New York with three females, all in the United States illegally. He said they were controlled by a female human trafficker and had to pay $3,000 each or else be subject to threats.
“They said when they came into the country illegally, the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) gave them a form, an ID, paperwork, that allows them to fly for free,” Judd said. “You know how Southwest (Airlines) will let your bags fly free? The federal government will let your illegal immigrants fly free.”
“They tell us that they fly to major metro centers for free, on the federal government, where they set up their appointments for sex all around the country,” Judd added.
Illegals flying domestically via the Biden administration's CBP One app are not even required to show photo identification if they enter the country via the app, the New York Post reported in December.
Judd also confirmed that the federal government gives the human trafficking victims paperwork that allows them to fly about the country being victimized for free.
Judd then took to slamming elected federal officials for failing to address the border crisis and the related scourge of crime that has accompanied it.
‘They sit up there in their gated communities and in Congress, and they play politics back and forth between the two parties while illegals are victimized. Citizens are victimized. Children are victimized,” Judd said. “It’s a mess. And it doesn’t have to be. If we can deal with it and catch it on a local level, they can stop it on the federal level—shame on all of them.
“The politicians are politicking while the victims are being victimized.”
Among those arrested who was trying to pay $150 to have sex with one woman told deputies he was a volleyball coach from New York who tutored middle school students, Judd said.
Another arrested was a math and science teacher, Judd said.
“He came to have sex. He called it a quick visit for $60,” Judd said at the presser. “Well, since he’s able to teach math, he can figure out that it didn’t add up this time.”
Moreover, three United States Air Force members were arrested in the sting: one staff sergeant, one airman police officer, and one recruit who was scheduled to begin recruit training in May.
Sheriff Judd was not pleased with the fact that a former Polk County detention officer had also been arrested.
“Dude, what are you doing,” Judd asked rhetorically. “You went from being a stellar employee to committing moral crimes, and it’s two in a month. He said, ‘I got a problem.’ No kidding. You’ve got a big problem.”
Judd said the operation led to a record number of arrests.
“This is a new record number of arrests during an investigation of this kind,” Judd said while adding that the victims will be aided by social services groups so they can hopefully move on from this way of life.
