WASHINGTON, DC- Have you noticed that progressive elites such as Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley have stopped railing against “millionaires and billionaires” and have changed their narrative to only billionaires? Funny how that happens when you become a millionaire yourself, especially on a $174,000 per year salary as a member of Congress.
Law Enforcement Today recently reported on the windfall Omar has come into since escaping to the United States from war-torn Somalia. Now, we find that Pressley (D-MA) has joined the congressional millionaire club, The Gateway Pundit reports.
The follicly-challenged Pressley, who spends a great deal of her time complaining about capitalism, isn’t afraid to partake herself. According to the outlet, Pressley has also seen her net worth explode since she was elected to Congress in 2018.
A report from Fox News states that Pressley has gone from a negative net worth when she was first elected to holding assets in the range of $8 million today. In 2018, Pressley’s financial disclosures showed a net worth of -$12,500 with limited assets.
In 2024, however, Pressley’s financial disclosures revealed nothing short of a miracle. In six years, her assets were valued between $1 million and $8 million, including rental property on tony Martha’s Vineyard worth up to $5 million and several Boston rental properties valued at up to $1 million each. Not bad on a congressman’s salary. In 2019, she only reported one Boston property.
As with Omar, all signs point to strange financial windfalls from her husband, Conan Harris.
The Gateway Pundit reports that only three days before Pressley took her oath as a member of Congress in January 2019, Harris resigned from his $93,500/year position as a senior public safety adviser to then-Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.
With a public safety background, Harris launched a consulting firm (just like Omar’s husband), Conan Harris & Associates.
At the time, ethics experts questioned the timing of the move, proposing that the timing could create the appearance of trying to profit from Pressley’s sudden membership in the exclusive 535-member Congress. According to convicted felon Harris, who served 10 years in prison for drug trafficking and then “turned his life around,” he claimed he needed “professional flexibility” to support his Squad member wife’s career. In this case, “professional flexibility” apparently included padding the bank accounts of he and Pressley.
Suddenly, Harris’s net income tripled to $350,000 by 2021 and continued to rise in subsequent years through consulting for nonprofits, businesses, and organizations tied to government initiatives. Get the picture yet? By all appearances, Harris was leveraging his wife’s position as a member of Congress to increase their bottom line.
Pressley’s financial disclosures show she and her husband made significant rental income, including up to $350,000 in one year from property sales and rents, including the Martha’s Vineyard home in 2023.
Pressley, like Omar, Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, and others, tries to champion herself as an anti-capitalist and being for the “little people.” In fact, she and the others are nothing but bloviating hypocrites who push rent control and slam capitalism, and “billionaires,” while they are loading up their bank accounts and real estate portfolios.
Unfortunately, in bright blue Massachusetts, voters couldn’t care less how much of a hypocrite Pressley is. In 2024, she ran unopposed, and that will likely be the case again this year. And Pressley and her husband will laugh all the way to the bank.
